airborne_angler Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Anyone throw Beaver baits weightless with success? I read somewhere that this is a deadly technique as the bait will glide and "parachute" like a real craw would on the fall. Anyone care to share their weightless Beaver Experiences? Quote
rowyourboat Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 i pitch them around grass lines alot and do pretty well Quote
Super User Raul Posted July 30, 2010 Super User Posted July 30, 2010 To make the bait glide you have to rig it backwards ( inserting tne hook between the flaps ), sweet beavers are quite heavy but you can make it sink faster by inserting a 1/64 - 1/96 oz nail sinker in the tail side. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 30, 2010 Super User Posted July 30, 2010 It's the same presentation that can be used with a swimming frog (Horny Toad, etc) The lure shape is not as important as the presentation. Quote
Blue Streak Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Raul is right and the bigger ones seem to glide the best. Quote
