"broken In" Frog Baits

Just as a fun sort of thread I thought I'd see if you guys have any frogs that are as "broken in" as these two. I'm sure there a few of you who have some that are seriously scarred, post'em up! Froggin' is my absolute favorite way to catch fish so I usually fish them to often, you know trying to force feed them instead of just using what they want. Spro has been my favorite brand of frog over the years but I've had my fair share of success on a R2S Bully Wa as well. Just ordered a Spittin' Wa, suppose to be here by the end of the week, and I'm seriously looking forward to fishing it. So like I said if you have any frog baits that are all torn up from all the fun you've had with'em lets see them.

I'm not exactly sure just how many fish I've caught on these particular frogs but it's very safe to say around the 25-30 mark for both. The pics don't do a great job of showing just how "chewed up" these baits are, especially the Killer Gill. I would LOVE that kind of frog action, the better frog days where I fish is around 10 bites a day. Just like everything else there will occasionally be a day or two when it's just unbelievable but on normal days 5 to 6 bites are about right.

Post a pic of that bad boy, I would like to see it. I can't believe with all the frog threads here that no one else has any frogs that are beat up.

Wareagle, 25-30 fish strikes will definitely make a frog look battle tested, just like yours. The reason I said mine were dead by two outings is because those outings result in 50-60 bass, not including misses. The frog you currently have will not survive another 25-30 fish. It will tear, and get messed up beyond recognition. All are awesome signs of successful bass fishing trips. I also do not have pics because as soon as the frogs start taking in water or tear, I take off what's left for parts sort of speak. I keep the hooks, disc weight, and the strands of legs.

I have a Koppers with over 50+ bass and snakehead on it combined. Its been glued numerous times and it had to be retired after I broke off a big snakehead at the bank. I got the frog back but the snakehead took the hooks. Your opening pic actually looks way more worn that my frog looks.

Diggy ,that Koppers look like it had many well fought battles. That's my favorite color combo you have there, that's the color I caught the bass in my avatar with.

As I said before I'd love to have a few 60 fish days on a frog. I glue mine a few times before I give up on them, most of the time I can get 8 to 10 more fish out of it before it's complete toast. I always keep the hooks and nose rings out of my old frogs as well, I've never thought about keeping the leads because I've never had one come out.

Thanks for posting, that's the way frogs are suppose to look!!  Yeah the Outback color frog really is on its last legs so to speak, it's been a good one though, caught lots of bass. Also had a few Gar bites on it, it has a big gash all the way across the back from the teeth but thankfully they didn't go all the way through so she still floats.

I dont have any frogs that look as beat up as those, but I hope some of mine get there. Alot of yall are talking about repairing. I have had the legs melt so i replace them with about 15-20 strands of spinnerbait skirt and those work just as well.  They seem to walk quite a bit easier too once that happens. Frog fishing is the most fun fishing in my opinion.

I have one particular Spro in Tropical White that has seen over 100 fish.  I had to retire it due to large gashes in it and it taking on too much water.  Ive bought several others in that some color, but they dont seem to have it like the first one did.

where are you fishing your frogs? I have tried lilly pads, but I cannot get bit by the pads. I throw mine between bushed and weeds most of the time. I also seem to get more bites while its moving, not sitting still, so I will throw it and make 5-8 chugs before pausing for a couple (2-3 seconds) then go again with 5 or 6 chugs. Seems to work for me.  I also get alot of bites in slop.  If I miss a fish in the slop, I typically get another bite if I get a good cast to the same area, just work it back to where you had the last cast. I also like the slop cause it has the trail of where you have made casts.

Ive had same issue with a spro albino white and a green tree. It seems like certain frogs have a little something extra that fish LOVE!  I dont know what it is, but the legs of my albino frog melted enough to where one of the legs was delicate enough to where that joker came off on a bite. I ended up putting some silicone skirt strips on for legs and it still gets more bites than the others! That sucker walks on any rod movement now, must be something with the new legs. I try to use it only for special occasions now

Oh, yea! I just bought a  boo ya pad crasher and wrestled a 3 pounder out of heavy timber and muck...then later that day I lost it to a log!!!!

I just got a Strike King Frog, after looking at it, I like it alot, gotta try the Booyah still.  Ive only really tried the Spro and Love that.

The Boo yah is by far my new favorite frog.  Hooks are set alittle off the body, it soft and its smaller.  All these have led to a much higher hookup ratio for me by far.  I get more strikes on it too compared to other frogs

I've got a Spro that used to be black with yellow stripes, now it's black with big yellow patches. Don't get to frog fish much with the lack of vegetation around here but when I find some that bait almost always gets the call!

I throw it everywhere man. And type of pads though this it's lighter and so if the pads are really heavy I use something heavier. I throw it in open water if I see some submerged vegetation. Lay downs, stick ups, stumps, under overhangs and shady areas. I've had success everywhere. With pads, 90% strikes are after pulling them the over the pads and killing it on the edge. Around everything else it's about finding the cadence that they want. Some days i cast it and let it sit for 15 seconds. Other days I walk it back super fast twitch twitch twitch twitch roughly 10 times before stopping it.
