MichiganFishing1997 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I can only speak for the veritas, but I got mine for $65. I love it, especially for the money. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 5, 2013 Super User Posted August 5, 2013 This is a very competitive price point. Just about every rod in this range will work fine. Pick what appeals to you. There aren't too many duds out there, so you can be confident. Quote
Cgrinder Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 If you're up for buying used, you can get a Crucial for about that price. If you must buy new, the *** is the way to go. Quote
sarcazmo Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Spend a touch more and grab a klx. They're always on sale and you can find a 25 dollar promo code. Quote

BassingNick Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Should go feel up a BPS Carbonlite and see what you think. Quote
Boogey Man Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I use a 6'9" MH extra fast Carbonlite. It's handled bass up to 6lbs. Quote
CTGalloway21 Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 well I bit the bullet and got a Kistler KLX for $134 shipped. I already have an ***, Dobyns, & Powell, so figured I would try another brand. 1 Quote

If you look into the Veritas rods from Abu Garcia I think that you would be very impressed. They have a lot of different models in the casting line and also in the Micro-Guide line if you prefer them. There are a lot of features that are built into these quality rods. These rods are very light and sensitive and one of the features that makes these so sensitive is the Abu designed "Extreme Exposure" reel seat. What that does is provides direct finger to rod contact for increased sensitivity. I hope this helps you the next time your out on the water. http://www.abugarcia.com/products/rods/veritas Quote
OnthePotomac Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I recommend the BPS 6'6", or 7' Carbonlite MH. I have six of them and you can fish all day with comfort because they are so light and I mean really light. They also handle a 12lb catfish and a 15lb Snakehead with no problem using 14lb BPS Flouro.
