Has Anyone Used The Havoc Backslide?

I'm just curious wanting to give them a try soon ..I know there a brand new bait but I was wondering if anyone had a chance to try them yet?and your opinions ?

Yes, I tried them...for about 10 mins. and that was all I could stand.  They have literally no action, although they do drift away from you as advertised.  I just felt it looked like a dead stick falling in the water. 

 

I suppose it has it's time and place, but I would opt for a Slug-Go over this bait if I wanted a stick bait with little action.  Just my personal preference.

I like it the slow backwards drift is nice

Indeed I have! I stuck a rattle in the tail end so they went back even further. The little "legs" on the sides really wiggle when they fall, but other than that they have no action that I tell. Nothing like a senko or something like that.  Very light bait with a 2/0 light wire hook, so it's a little tricky to toss (used 10lb PP)

 

Threw it for about 15 minutes and caught one. It's definitely a bait that'll work better in clear water looking forward to throwing it more this year!

Haha, reminds me of the of Flying Lure...  Since the Havoc line is so inexpensive, I'll probably give it a try.

I bought some, but haven't had a chance to get out fishing yet. Will report back when I go, hopefully this week at some point.

I use them as neko rigs no need for nails and killer bait for river smallies.

Finally got a chance to get out and really give these a shot. Went to my favorite summer haunt where dock fishing can be very productive. I actually didn't think about these until about two hours into the day. I was flipping and skipping jigs and senkos under docks and not getting bit nearly as much as I felt like I should. One stretch that I know will usually produce atleast a limit only landed one 2lb'er. I watched a few fish slightly nose to the senko, but not make any move to actually eat them.

 

Once I remember these, I threaded one on and went back down the same stretch. I ended up getting about a dozen fish on the same shoreline that a jig and senko netted me pretty much nothing. Same color bait at first, but I decided to try out the Cotton Candy color because of how sunny it was, and I could see small, translucent baitfishing swimming around.

 

As I fished around the rest of the lake, I netted a total of 33 bass on these lures today, 14 with green pumpkin, and the rest on Cotton Candy. No monsters, but it would have put me into a decent bag for a tournament here.

 

As soon as I would toss this up to the dock and it started its VERY slow drift backwards (The point of the dual density, instead of nail weighted which will drop MUCH faster) I would watch them come out of their little hiding spots and nose right to it. After watching it a few seconds, they would inhale it.

 

These are definitely in my box from here on out. Very good finesse bait.
