There are a few yummy options for 50 size reels in the JDM realm.

You are a bad man maico! Are you fishing those bad boys or just using them as center pieces for the dining table?

I just landed a Chronarch CI4+, even though it's a 150 size reel..it seems to have a "50" size profile.  When I get home after work, I'm going to compare.  So this maybe an option if you are looking for for something different than the standard Chronarch 50E.

Save for a paint job, and a few other VERY minor differences, the Curado 50e and Chronarch 50e are the same reel.

Two of the CQ 50's are mounted GLX BCR 803C's and the CQ 50 DC's are mounted on a NRX JWR 802C and a NRX JWR 803C. Since I just got the second DC I am looking for a new NRX for the CQ 50.

I actually got to play with this combo.  Let's just say it was nice, lol.

I read a rumor somewhere that there is a 50 sized CI4+ Chronarch coming. Like I said I really don't know if this is true or not, you know how internet rumors are.

i had read that somewhere too but bantam1 shot it down. so, no 50-size CI4+ coming but bantam1 did say that shimano didn't shoot its entire wad at icast2013 and that they will be introducing several more new reels over the next few months.

That's kinda what I figured just due to how compact and light the 150 size is already. I'm also really looking forward to what else they have coming the rest of the year.

Very nice! I am sure even if it is a slow day on the water they are a blast to fish paired up with those Loomis sticks!

If y'all are on FB and Twitter, follow Mercer and Zona. Both dropped hints and videos there before the new Ci4 really came out.

They still make Calcutta 50s, I have a older one the 5.0:1, awesome for slow rolling spinner back.
