Neebles Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Have you ever lost bait to a fish only to get it back later? I was fishing some wackys and I lost one, about 15-20 minutes later I caught a fish and to my surprise.... 1 Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted August 2, 2013 Super User Posted August 2, 2013 I fish a small local flow here that is loaded with small spots and smallies and sunfish. I have lost or had baits ripped in half quite a few times over the years but last year i was out there for about 4 weekends in a row. On my last trip out i caught a smallie around 12' and i look in his mouth and there is a stickbait. So either he was one of the fish that chomped my baits in half or he ate someone elses trash. That is a great pic though, especially since it is the same color and everything. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted August 2, 2013 Super User Posted August 2, 2013 Greedy fish he obviously didn't learn by getting hooked once Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted August 2, 2013 Super User Posted August 2, 2013 Some fish are stupid we use to catch pickerel all the time in NJ by just casting out an empty hook lol it was pretty cool. Another time in Nj My buddy caught a nice sized pickerel I was reeling in my line about 5 feet off shore he puts the fish back in water and it immediately attacks my worm and gets hooked again lmao Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted August 2, 2013 Super User Posted August 2, 2013 One thing is for sure, you had the right color on. Way to go, and very cool picture. Quote

Caught about 15 of them in a span of about 20-30 minutes. It was cast, hit, cast, hit, cast, hit.....Nothing of any significant size, but it was fun none the less. I had bass thumb going on for sure... Quote
ToadTorcher Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Yup! A buddy and I were fishing the river onetime and close to the put in spot he snaps off to what we thought was a Norther. We go down stream and come back up the same hole he lost the fish and hooks up to a monster! We're getting the hook out and I notice a red shad colored worm sticking out it through along with some line running down the side. We're able to get both hooks out and release the fish! You can see the line coming of the fishes mouth in the pic below. Quote

ToadTorcher Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 you can also see his reel in the water lmao I noticed that too! He really don't care at all, it sorta bugs me because I get ticked if my reel gets a little wet and he's just flyin fine with it underwater. Quote
