New Bag Holds Extra Box, What Box Should I Buy???

Scored a near new BPS 5 box bag today at a garage sale for $1. Missed out on 20 reels and poles the guy said he had sold.

 

My old bag holds 4 boxes. Got them all stuffed and was pretty excited when I put them into this bag and can tell it's made for 5. So which box should I get? I've seen boxes made for crankbaits or spinners. I've got more lures like cranks, spinners, buzz/chatter baits that I'd like to carry with me.

 

What type of boxes you guys normally run? Brands etc. Gonna hit Bass Pro soon. Kinda fun to see what others are doing.

I have a 4 box bag by Plano. in one box I have all my terminal stuff and weights. Hooks, bullet weights, drop shot weights, split shot, etc all organized by size. I also keep band aids and various tools in this box. My second box is all my crank baits, poppers, jitterbugs, rapalas, etc. my third box is all jigs and frogs, and lastly I replaced one of the standard boxes with a spinnerbait box from Plano. its the same size as the others and holds all my spinnerbaits and buzz baits.

I keep my plastics in a worm binder and in various pouches throughout the bag.

get one 3700 plano box for cranks/topwaters. it will save you space with other boxes.

Been thinking about a worm binder. Really trying to keep my gear easy to transport so need to look and see if one will fit in the bag pouch or lanyard it to the bag etc.

My bag holds 5 boxes,3700s,1 each for top water,shallow ,medium,deep diver,spinner bait.I swap out a jig box depending.I guess it depends on what your approach is .Good luck!

I bought a deep 3700 box that is perfect for lots of plastics. Then the 5th box gets laid on top of the other 4 and gets held in by the zipper. I also have some 3600 and 3500 in the sides and front for terminal tackle and other small misc lures.

I don't keep mine in the bag. The worm binder has a large loop on it as well as the tackle bag. I use a carabiner to hook mine to the bag for easy transport and removal.

Be sure to get one or two sizes bigger of worm binder than you think you need. they fill up fast, especially when the bait monkey notices a sale on plastics!

Nice. That info on the worm binder is gonna be helpful. Carabiner is gonna work. Gonna throw my back out if I try to lug too much crap around.

I use the Abu Garcia back pack since I am strictly a bank fisherman and I love it. It's perfect for what I need it for. I keep it light so it's more comfortable while I am fishing

I wouldn't give 2 cents for a worm binder anymore.   From experience, I can say that the plastic bags last maybe a year or so and before that they get so that they don't seal totally.  Worm binders are more trouble than they are worth.

 

My advice is to keep all your plastics in the bags that they came in.  Keep them kind of together by putting them inside a gallon zip lock bag.  When the gallon zip lock bag fails (and it will) get another bag, you're out 13 cents or so.

 

Really though, I'm not one to talk about tackle organization, because my approach is to bring everything.  I stop when I start tripping over stuff in the boat.  I generally carry a couple of gym bags full of soft plastics, 

kind of organized by type in various zip lock bags.
