domthefishboy Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I'm not sure whether or not to get the Pflueger Purist or the Daiwa Exceler spinning reel for finesse fishing with mostly charlie brewer slider heads, drop shotting, and wacky worming. Have you guys had any experience with the Pflueger Purist Spinning Reels? They just came out not too long ago, and not many reviews have been posted. I know that the daiwa exceler is a pretty popular reel though. Thanks. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted August 1, 2013 Super User Posted August 1, 2013 I'm not familiar with the Purist, but Pflueger is renowned for producing excellent reels at very reasonable prices. That's why almost all of my reels are Pfluegers. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted August 1, 2013 Super User Posted August 1, 2013 purist is solid, great "workhorse" reel. Quote
Super User MCS Posted August 1, 2013 Super User Posted August 1, 2013 I have a president XT, the model the purist replaced. Great reel, very smooth, works great. Everything u expect from a quality reel can only imagine the purist is the same. Quote
bassinbrian Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Daiwa Exceler changed for this year, so probably not a lot of people that have tried it. Quote
