I have a couple of Patriarchs and a Patriarch XT, they are great reels that don't get the credit they deserve.  I'm definitely interested in the new Patriarch.  I'm going to BPS in the next few days, hopefully they will have them in stock.

Very classy-looking.  I like the smoother edges than the Revo's have, and the fact that these reels have hinged side plates.  Looks like the gearbox is fairly normal-sized.

If these new Pflueger's are anything like the old President LP and Supreme LP, they'll be really good.

The ergonomics of the Patriarch's are great.  That's one of the main reasons I never liked the Revo's.  I feel like I get the same performance in a much more comfortable package.

Cabella's has the Supreme XTs on sale for $119.99.  I almost jumped on it, but the Bait Monkey is screaming in my ear to buy a Patriarch.  I found one on eBay for $160, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.  TackleTour reviewed the Patriarch a year or so ago and said the reel is comparable to reels costing twice as much.

I love my Patriarch XT, but as far as I know they haven't been produced in a couple years.  Looks like they changed the color of the regular Patriarch to look very similar to the XT.

I would agree that Pflueger reels are very underrated.  The President always gets mention when someone posts asking about a good reasonably priced spinning reel, but almost no one ever mentions Pflueger baitcasting reels.  Too bad.  They are missing out on a quality product.

EDIT:  Whoa!  I don't remember the weight of the older Patriarch, but I thought it was quite a bit heavier than the new model.  New model is more in line with the XT.

The xt I have is the blue/metallic one, I think they put it out 2 years ago, only for that year. If I remember, my 64wlp is around 8oz, and the xt is 2 ozs lighter.

I have one of the old, big President WLPL's.  The reel is huge and weighs 9.4 ounces (well, weighed; I'm working on that :eyebrows: ), but it's quite comfortable to palm for such a large reel.  Same with the Supreme LPL; it's not small or light by today's standards, but it's comfortable to palm and because of that you don't really notice the weight.

To the best of my knowledge the XT only came in the blue metallic.  Weight is 6.8 oz.  Believe the older Patriarch (non-XT) weighed 8.4 oz.

I did it. I pulled the trigger. I bought a new Patriarch 30 series off eBay for $149.99, shipping included.  I can't wait to get that baby in my hands.

Sweet reel. Enjoy

The new reels look great. I like the pflueger BC reels, I own 3 spinning, but I got a better deal on another brand but I think when the time comes I will add a supreme XT or patriarch next.

I like the BC reels just as much.  I have four Patriarchs.

One of my fishing buddies has the spinning xt, he loves it. I have handled it a couple times, pretty nice reel.
