aquaholic Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Any one have any tips for getting this to dive? I have 3, 1 will dive and stay under for a while and the other two practically just run the surface and wont dive. any suggestions? Quote
Bigbass37 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Use a lighter line. I have used these for years and the newer ones seem to not have the same action. What type of rod are you throwing it on? Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 30, 2013 Super User Posted July 30, 2013 Hold your rod tip down to the water. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Hold your rod tip down to the water. This is #1 rule for those little guys. Quote
aquaholic Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 only runnning 15lb braid, do you think using it on a spinning reel could be the issue? I had to send my only baitcaster back to bps and have been using a spinning outfit for the past week. Quote

I fish them on spinning gear fairly often when I fish ponds because they cast easy in tight spaces and are easy to fish over and through cover. Like others said, you have to have your rod tip almost touching the surface of the water for them to dive and even then they aren't going to get very deep. Quote
aquaholic Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 i had one that stuck at like a foot down with my rod tip anywhere. it was amazing and caught a lot of fish. Is there a way to make this thing go lower, maybe by bending the lip or something? Quote

Look for something else that dives deeper, I think theirs luck e strike rick clunns at walmart that run 1-2' Quote

The 1-Minus is somewhere between a crankbait and a topwater bait. Usually when I'm fishing one (or any wakebait for that matter) the goal is to get from 3-6" beneath the surface , if not right on the surface. I fish them on the tidal river at high tide if the grass is submerged. Killer baits when used at the right time. @aquaholic The bait that you have that does dive is most likely the lemon of the 3.
