Grantman83 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Just wanted to give a shout out to their customer service. I only own one of their rods currently. but have owned several of their reels and rods in the past. However, I know their Veritas line especially has a rep for breaking. Today we found out why. A friend of mine has a Veritas spinning rod and loves it. Today we were fishing, he sets the hook and snap. Rod breaks right after the first guide in a magnificent explosion of white and blank shards. He has had this rod for a year. We take the pics you see here and email Abu. Within 5 minutes we have a reply asking for pics of the rod and receipt. He goes home, emails the info and in less than 20 minutes has a new rod shipping his way under warranty. Also, they let him switch the rod to a medium heavy spinning (the original was the medium version) free of charge. Gotta give props to a company that will stand behind their product and provides good service. The whole process took at most a half an hour. I may not prefer their rods and reels, but they do stand by their products. Quote
mg4u2nv Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 x2 on great customer service. I had a vendetta about 6 months ago snap as i lifted a 4lb peacock bass onto the shore. i emailed them, took pics, and gave them all the info. Didn't hear back for a few days, i emailed them again while i was at work, I got home that night and there was a brand new vendetta waiting for me! They did an excellent job and have certainly earned my future business! Matt Quote
ToadTorcher Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I've had a buddy break 3 Vendetta spinning rods so far... each was replaced and mailed off to him within the week! Brother also broke a Vendetta and got a it replaced right quick! I actually can't wait for mine to break so I can get the new model, lol! Great customer service! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 30, 2013 Super User Posted July 30, 2013 Never breaking a rod I've yet to use anyone's customer service, but I've used Pure Fishing for reels both warranty and non warranty. One word describes the experience.....Excellent. Quantum offers 48 hour turnaround time for warranty freshwater reels and 24 hour for saltwater. Quote
jeb2 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Another happy customer. I've only had to deal with AG/Pure Fishing 2 or 3 times over the years, but it's always been amazing. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted July 30, 2013 Super User Posted July 30, 2013 My first baitcaster was the original Silver Max. It began acting up within a few months (gears slipping). I called them to get it serviced as per the warranty. They asked me to ship the reel. What comes back in the mail is a brand new Silver Max 2. Happy Camper. Quote
Blues19 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I have heard great things about the Customer Service, which is the reason I took a chance with the veritas. Havent had any issues yet Quote
Curved Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I love to hear great customer service stories and it makes me think you're getting your money's worth with AG products. I bought a Shakespeare (also a Pure Fishing brand) cheapo combo earlier this year and the bail return spring broke after a couple months. I wasn't too disappointed in it breaking (what can you expect?), but on the website it says you have to pay $7 for them to ship out a replacement part in the 1 year warranty -- $7 to replace a spring on a $30 combo. Ha, it goes to show that buying a bottom bucket premium brand can pay for itself. I got a $30 Quantum combo to replace that Shakespeare because I had my Quantum ultralight's bail spring break last winter and they shipped the part out no fuss for free. I wouldn't have a problem buying an AG instead of a Quantum, but I'm going to steer clear of Shakespeare in the future. Quote
