GoneFishi'n Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Got down there at about 8:00. Casted out my MS Slamemr to see if it was swimming right which it wasnt. Tuned it and first cast got a nice 2-3 pounder. Some guy thought my MS Slammer was a fish and casted at it and almost got me snagged which was pretty funny. He came over and saw that I had the bass and asked "What the hell is that thing you're using". It scared him when I casted haha. The night ended terribly. Caught another one and as I was flipping him out of the water he came loose. I jumped in the water and got him(water was only to my ankles). About 35 minutes after the last bass I went to spot that has rewared me many times and has also made me mad. This is the spot where I had my biggest bass ever come off at my feet, and my biggest hit ever with no hook-up. I casted out and let it sit there for about 30 seconds like always and started to reel super slow. I felt and heard a hug hit and set the hook. Fought it for about 10 seconds and it jumped, gone... I was stupid. I did not keep my rod tip down at all while fighting it. It had the head of a 10lber. Going back tonight till about 12:00am to get that sucker. Thanks for looking! Wish me luck. Quote

GoneFishi'n Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 You aren't fishing the stock hooks are you? The stock hooks on the Slammers SUCK!!Yes they do! At first I put some Owner ST-36 size 1 on them and after losing that big one I replaced those because they were just a little small for that bait. So I took hooks off of a Cordell Redfin and I put those on instead. Quote
