Went out Saturday morning for about 6 hours.  I haven't caught anything larger than 2 pounds for the past couple of weeks.  I started out with a crankbait to try and find them, but I didn't get any bites.  A cold front came through late last week, so I figured I would try a drop shot out in the deeper water, but that didn't work either.  I moved into a shallow arm that can't be more than 6 or so feet deep, and started using a black jig and trailer.  I got my first, second, and third bass on the jig throwing right next to wood.  They were all about the same size maybe 1 to 1-1/4 pounds.  I moved back into the end of the arm and started throwing a baby bass 1 minus, and got number 4.  That one was the dink of the day.  Moved to the other side of the arm, and tossed a wacky rigged stik-o under a willow tree.  Number 5 swirled on the stik-o, and that bass went 1-11 lbs.

Then the bass shut off, and I moved out of the area I was fishing, and I tried fishing around some small islands.  I didn't see anyone catching anything.  This must have gone on for at least an hour and a half with no bites.

I moved back into the arm where I had caught the first 5 and decided to try the weed line around the shore.  I pitched the jig over some thick weeds that were sticking up out of the water, and then pulled the jig up and dragged it across the tops of the weeds.  When the jig dropped off the weeds back into the water, POW, a bass hit that jig as soon as it went into the water.  I knew by the way the bass was pulling that it was bigger than anything I had caught in a while.  I got her in the boat and she went 4-06.  I took a couple of pics with the cell phone, but those really turned out blurry.

Ended up with two more dinks from the weed line before I headed home.
