Going to try this turnpike pond:

Hopefully I can get my first top water bite.

Who else is going out?

i highly recommend you try the one from Sample Rd North Bound entry onto turnpike, there are two, it's the larger one. I nailed 20+ fish there today on a green lizard casting out right past the vegetation :)

BTW what time you going? If you want to go in the evening, I MAY be able to come along :)

One other thing, I started off with a hollow body popping booyah frog, got NOTHING, so an hour later I switched to t-rigged zoom lizards with 1/8oz bullet on the line and the rest is history! i think a lot of those turnpike ponds are the money spots, just gotta find out which ones! i'll be systematically going from one to the other in the following weeks. stay tuned...

Of course I'll be fishing.  We have had some nice conditions been catching 30-40" fish on med spinning rods, a really nice battle,  hopefully the weather and water holds up, if not I'll get skunked for sure.

Me!

Went to the local small lake and nailed three, the biggest being around two pounds.

Lost one on a Chatterbait and had two small hits on my shaky head.

Got the keepers on a KVD Sexy Shad crankbait.

Went out this motioning got a bunch of missed too water strikes and managed to land a nice fish between 6 & 7lbs. It slammed my frog after watching it and following it for a good 7 mins. My other buddy managed to pull in a nice one between 3 & 4 and my other buddy caught 2 nice ones at another spot we stopped and fished before we called it a day.

Any day I would be frustrated missing a bunch of fish and only getting my hands on one but when that one is a 6 or 7lber I will take it any day

RVADog, so where did you go today, Sunday, July 28th?

Weather conditions were fine with cloud cover allowing the bass to move around.

Were you fishing for large or smallmouth bass?

What were you throwing?

How were you throwing it?

You should have caught something today.

Let us know and maybe we can give you some insight.

By the way, that "pond" looks like a water retention basin to help control the water from the highway.

If so, probably no fish in it.

Yep. figured that out.

Keep your name as we now know who you are and in Florida.

Any luck with that pond???
