Mccallister25 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Just got back home from fishing with my girlfriend. We fished a few neighborhood ponds until dark. We walked down to a smaller pond, and we only took one rod a piece. She had a buzzbait, and I had a pop-r. Well, when we got down there you could see the topwater bite was on. Significantly better than any of the other ponds we were fishing at. The bass were hitting the water pretty aggressively also. We fished there for a little under an hour, a d didnt get bit once. We casted beyond the fish, right on top of the fish and everywhere in between. How come the action was so good, and they just wouldnt touch our lures? Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 28, 2013 Super User Posted July 28, 2013 They could have been chasing bait fish to the top of the water, I find that is often the case when you see them really active but they won't hit top water lures Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted July 28, 2013 Super User Posted July 28, 2013 Are you sure they were bass? Seems if it was that much action, at least one of you would have gotten bit! Jeff Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Were these ponds near the college or nearby parks ? Possibly could have been carp. Quote
