If you were skunked on a trip fishing  :fishing:   . Would you, or have you stopped and picked up fish before you got home ?

Nah never. I usually practice C & R. Partly for conservation and partly because I'm lazy. My wife gets ticked off that I never bring any fish home. I may have to buy some fish on the way home and throw them in freezer bags to pacify her in the future. ;)

Well to be honest, I made a trip to the ocean a few years back and never got anything ! On the way out I stopped at a fish market and picked up a few ...made me feel like the trip was not a complete loss :)

I don't eat the fish I catch so the only fish I ever buy are minnows :)

I dont really like the texture of fish. If I am stopping to buy something its gonna be a steak or a sub.

Mine too. She doesn't understand going out and just catching fish for fun. Every now and then we'll get a couple walleye or crappie and I'll bring them home, somehow in her mind that makes my trip worthwhile....

All of my family loves eating fish so coming home with a empty ice chest has never happened ...but theirs nothing wrong with a bucket of chicken, sub or a T-bone :)

Never had that problem, bluegill are always plentyful, pickerel are around, and if I stay out late enough walleye say hello.

Glad to see others are fish eaters :) I let them go when they jump off my hook (or to small ) To many hungry kids to feed ...lol

I very rarely fish for food so I normally go home empty handed.  In the winter during the trout stockings or if I go crappie fishing, I will keep and eat my catch.

Mostly C & R, but if I catch a legal grouper or dolphin it's coming home with me.  My wife does not like snook, she's salmon eater and we don't have them here.  Around here one of the most popular eating fish are barracuda, they are terrific on the plate, being as slimy, stinky fish I can think of, I give them away, there is always a line up behind me begging for them.

Where I am it's not even an option. Getting skunked to me is part of the game. Thankfully it happens much less often then when I am turkey, deer, or coyote hunting. Weeks freezing in a blind makes you appreciate a warm day on a lake, fish or not.

I practice C&R for bass no matter what, I'll keep crappies/panfish if they're within a certain size and the only time I keep a northern is if it's got a firm belly for pickling.

I practice C & R but my hands smell of fish this proves I been fishing for fish and not a dish.

No, unless wife has dinner to go with saltwater fish.

Then yes, if I had the time and could find a seafood store I would bring something home ready for the oven.

Never for freshwater fish as I release all I catch.
