Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 26, 2013 Super User Posted July 26, 2013 That's a nice fish! Those big hudd baits seem to catch some nice fish, I've seen pother members post pics using them Quote
CPBassFishing Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Sweet fish dude! Keep throwing those baits and you will be rewarded with a monster! it takes more patience that most types of fishing and I get skunked occasionally when I stick with the hudds but it has a way bigger patience to reward ratio than any other type of fishing. GoneFishi'n Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Nice one! Keep fishing it and you'll be catching some more big ones. How were you fishing it when you caught it? Slow rolling, or burnin it over weeds? Or slow roll with jerks? Again nice one man, stick with it. You're a natural at fishin swimbaits. Keep chuckin. Quote

I was just reeling fairly fast with the rod tip up. Not burning, just enough to keep it about a foot under the surface. I broke in the jointed claw tonight too. Just a 2lber but it was nice to catch the first fish on it. Quote

Is it like a s swim or more of a glide? Quote
CPBassFishing Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Nice man! How do you like the swim on the jointed claw? Is it like a s swim or more of a glide? both. It has a fairly wide s swim at medium to high speeds, but the swim is fairly thin at lower speeds. If you snap your rod it will glide off at a 90 degree angle and keep going about a foot. Its really easy to keep it in the strike zone with a little practice. Its also extremely easy to steer around obstacles. I could cast over a log, snap the bait one direction, and slow it down so the swim was very thin. It would go right around the end of the log, traveling almost 3 feet sideways from where it landed. CPBassFishing Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 You sold me on getting one haha. if you get one get the floater because your can make it dive about 6 feet if you crank it with the rod tip down or wake it subsurface with the rod tip up. This thing is crazy versatile. Quote
GoneFishi'n Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I would definitely get the floater. I love seeing a big bass explode on a swimbait. You will soon see a lot of followers on that type if bait though. Reel it all the way in and twitch it a couple of times at you're feet even if you don't see a bass. I have had them come up and eat a swimbait doing this. 1 Quote
