Fished a night tournament at Raystown, PA last friday night.  Was having a horrible night in the back of the boat while my boater had a limit before I even had a bite!   Anyway, about 5am I got horribly sick and started vomiting and had chills.  Out of respect for my boater I asked him to take me to the dock and drop me off.  I then spent the next couple hours watching from shore/vomiting.  Anyone ever had a similar experience?   That was the first time I've ever quit a tournament early and I felt like I failed my partner because I couldn't continue.

Just wanted to see what other have done or would have done in the same situation.

Oh heck ya.  Just happened to me a few months ago.  I was 2 hours into the tournament with 3 in the well and got violently sick w/severe chills.  I had my partner (my wife) drop me off at the ramp where our camper was parked, and spent the rest of the day violently draining my body of fluids.  I was too sick to travel, so we waited another day before heading home.

Dropped off the boat and headed for the ER for some fluids and anti-biotics.

Bottom line, there's not much you can do when your body does that.  You just have to quit everything you're doing and let it do its thing.

I agree with Glenn. You didn't fail your partner, you got sick.
