Super User flechero Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 Mike Long made a comment on Hank Parker's show about a particular 12" swimbait, he said: "it's really too heavy to toss, you'd probably just want to long line this one." Guessing by context it would be trolling it out or letting it go down current? I'm just curious, what is "long-lining"? thanks Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 the direct oppisite of SHORT-LINNING! Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 Yep. Troll it, or let it drift out or across if its a floater. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 When my buddies and I use the term "long lining"we mean trolling. I would think that's what he meant also. Falcon Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 long-lining is the term used around here for a 2-3 mile long trot line for swordfish. I would assume 4 bizz nailed this one when talking about a single bait in freshwater. Quote
