jason41987 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 the lake where i fish rose a bit during the raining we had the last couple days, then the level dropped again and today, all along the shore that was flooded are piles of turds.. and they seem to be everywhere... about as big around as a pencil and i have absolutely no idea what would do this.. i didnt take photos of them for two reasons.. i didnt have anything to take photos with, and no one wants to see them.. but from the description what would do this?.. i just recently noticed there are turtles in the lake, would they have done this?.. or is it likely a land animal of some sort that did it when the water was low? Super User MCS Posted July 24, 2013 Super User Posted July 24, 2013 Geese Yep they **** like dogs not what u would think a typical bird like say a pigeon u know the white plop....watch ur step. Quote
jason41987 Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 aah.. you know, that makes a lot of sense now considering another clue on the beach i thought was unrelated.. i found a few white down feathers here and there.. and i looked up a photo of goose droppings and that does look like what i seen, explains the feathers too... d**n flock of gease must have landed on the shore when i wasnt there.. nasty things Quote
Super User Darren. Posted July 24, 2013 Super User Posted July 24, 2013 Yep they **** like dogs not what u would think a typical bird like say a pigeon u know the white plop....watch ur step. Worse than dogs, IMO!! Quote
jherm87 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 One of the lakes we fish gets the boat dock covered in goose poop every morning. Makes launching the boat interesting trying to keep the **** off your shoes Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted July 25, 2013 Super User Posted July 25, 2013 Yep...goose poop. It's all over the banks everywhere I fish. Quote
jason41987 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 well, maybe ill have to do some goose hunting later on... wait, i dont even have a hunting license in this state.. best to wait until a meet the requirements of a resident of the state first.. i had to get an out of state fishing license for $20 because i havent even been living here a month yet.. i used to live in new york state, and theres a lot of wildlife here i just never had to deal with there.. ive seen more wild animals after moving to wisconsin in just a few weeks than i did in 10 years living in even a rural part of NY state Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted July 25, 2013 Super User Posted July 25, 2013 I hate geese, the local pond I fish frequently has the ground covered. No way to avoid really, so I wear crappy shoes or boots. Not to mention they like to come close to you as you fish because people freaking feed'em thinking I'm trying too! Nasty buggers. Quote
jason41987 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 well, these geese were doing their own thing at the other end of the lake this morning.. hopefully scaring the fish my way.. but as a flock flew overhead they all proceeded to poop and pee, nearly hitting me with the entire payload of a flock of geese.. glad i was 10 feet further to the left of them Quote
Super User senile1 Posted July 26, 2013 Super User Posted July 26, 2013 . . . Darned hoodlums pooping up the shoreline! What will these kids think of next? Quote
