Cabbage_donkey Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 So it seems we have some mixed opinions on soft plastics, but in general most of your are just as anal as I am when it comes to maintaining you organization skills. One thing over the years I've noticed is that I am buying more of the double-stack Plano boxes, which IMO cant be beat. smaller baits, terminal, swivels and beads up top, larger baits ect, in the bottom tray, the positive, I've taken some pretty nasty spills, trekking down the Niagara gorge mid-winter to chase chrome, and everything stays in its own compartment and even the smallest of micro-swivels never ninjas its way into another compartment. the negative, steelheading on the Niagara river in mid February can get pretty cold, I've broken the plastic tab off of the bottom tray a couple of times and those trays end up as just storage trays and don't get back out into the field. BrianSnat Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I usually organize my tackle box when the lakes are iced over and maybe once during the season if it gets really out of hand. I'm not an organizational nut. As long as the hooks are back where the hooks belong and the sinkers where the sinkers go and the lures where the lures go I'm happy. Soft plastics I keep in the original bag. They've outgrown my tackle box (which is pretty big) so I found a on old zippered portfolio bag that I keep them in. Quote
Bassfishing375 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I just got done organizing my stuff. I am always tweaking with my tackle and organizing my stuff. I can't get enough of it after all fishing is my hobby. I keep my soft plastics in the original bags, but there is nothing wrong with putting your soft plastics in their own tray. I have done it for years and never had a problem. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 27, 2013 Super User Posted July 27, 2013 Fishing mostly after dark during the warmer months, organized tackle is not really optional. Daytime trips are occasionally followed by some re-organization; especially when I'm not getting bit and I'm rifling through my gear all day. A-Jay Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted July 27, 2013 Super User Posted July 27, 2013 My stuff is in my office. I am constantly tuning and tweaking my tacklebag to fit more in. Aren't you supposed to be working?....lol. Hootie Quote
