Shelby Stanga, the Swamp Man on Axe Men will have his own show on The History Channel.  The first episode airs August 6th, two weeks from tomorrow.

Maybe I should "adopt" an image of Stanga to use as my avatar.  Stanga and Bundy, the irresistible force meets the immovable object.   Which is which?  I'll never tell.

Years ago my best friend.s mother referred to he and I as a peach of a pair, or is that pear?

I was able to watch the first episode tonight and it is pretty funny.

Shelby is quit the character to say the least.

Nope, you didn't miss it.

I just had the opportunity to view the episode before it airs.

I believe the Air date will be August 6th.

Episode number 1 was pretty funny and I was told, by someone

that works with the History channel, that is just gets crazier from there.

That Shelby dude is hilarious in a twisted kind of way.  :)

Not really impressed so far. First weeks episodes were ok. The swamp rat episode was completely staged. What happened to his wife? He's running around with that short broad now. And feeding rum to a tree? C'mon

I share your disappointment.  It is way too corny and contrived.  Looks like a remake of Crocodile Dundee.

His fear of getting on an escalator, then asking if the security pass through was going to shock him was bit much.  I taped it, and erased it.

A little goes a long way, and the characters that helped him from his female gorilla cousin and her easy on the eyes sidekick who did nothing but provide eye candy were okay.   The goofy little guy who made all the faces was an entertaining character.

I don't know about the height challenged whatever she was.  Didn't add much to the show.  I too wondered what happened to his wife.

I'm afraid Shelby won't have the staying power of Mr. Bundy.  Actually, I should be afraid that he might.  I enjoyed his character on the Ax Men series.  His new incarnation, not so much if they stick with the current format.

I'm going to give it more time, maybe they can shuffle through more of his 'cousins' till they find the right ones..

He's from the south. That could take years.

I have to admit, I only saw the first episode as a screener and I thought it was funny.

I forgot to set my dvr to watch the rest of the episodes.

Guess I don't need to waste my time.

Thanks guys.
