Going to be fishing this this coming weekend. Advise? Crank baits? Jigs? Worms? Flipping the stumps? Punching grass? Colors?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Try talking to bamabassmaster, I dunno if he has been on lately, but in the spring he fished there a few times a month. Flukes did him well then. Haven't really seen anyother members post too much up about it.

Here ya go. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/86170-jacksonville-fl-small-lakes/?p=1246443

I wouldn't waste the time I've been reading this forum for years and made this account to let you no rodman has been slow for months it's like some one turned the switch off I'd head for salt run not to far down the road

I continue to try water here in the gainesville area and I cant catch a dam thing. I was talking with a fellow golfer about fishing and he said that is the only place to get bass around here. Either way, it has much more activity than anywhere else so to Rodman I go. There are a few videos floating around of some good fish caught just a few months ago. I just dont really have a choice. The fishing is Terrible in Gainesville. After this year of school I will be making my way back to the Orlando area. Much better fishing.

There's a local tackle shop on 19 on the right side after you go over the Florida barge canal in a plaza called the square stop in there they put me and a Buddie on fish after rodman have us the cold shoulder a few months ago

Does it cost money to put in a boat? I use an inflatable with trolling motor.

not sure where your not catching anything but fishing is fine around the gville area.loosa put in at twin lakes fish camp fish lil loosa in the pads and visible cover .small enough area for your boat  hampton lake fish docks to the n. or pads and grass to the s..of ramp.little lake santa fe fish either way outta launch canal. or melrose bay in big lake . alto to the left as you go into lake down to canal that leads to s.f. ,crosby in starke would be a good bet, and if you want numbers and dont care about size you have lowry and magnolia in keystone.(only open on sun. from daylite till noon and mon. from noon till 6 pm. there are many small lakes in the forest that are only accessible with your type boat and are mostly unmollested and hold giant bass.i would even think you could get your boat in holden park in hawthorne that has monster bass in it.fishing is tough in rodman and not easy to access with your boat. you would have to travel to far to get to where to get on some fish.salt run would be the last place I would go right now, especially with your boat.

What about Newnans and Orange or north to the Santi Fe River out of High Springs.

I used to fish the stumps at Rodman out of Interlochen there was a public ramp there at the time.

Those stumps are still down there. Id look for deep water hydrilla this time of year.

Rodman is so tough right now along with lochloosa.. The only luck I've had at either its flipping the absolute heaviest cover you can find. Late afternoon i caught a couple cranking just outside the river channel at rodman also

I didnt end up getting out anywhere this weekend. Fishing took a back seat to Golf.

I think I may try Salt Springs run around mid week and see what the deal is.

I havent fished Rodman since the beginning of summer. I moved to Alaska so my fishing is for halibut and salmon nowadays. However it was absolutely deadly before summer. Rodman does tend to slow down this time of year and the days get hotter there. I had sucess on flukes and shad colored crankbaits shallow runners. I lived there in Jacksonville for 4 years before I moved here and the pattern pretty much stayed the same there. The clearer the water is the tougher it can be. Just move around and find the muddier water. Rodman is still Rodman. The fish are there. You just gotta find them. Good luck!

Ive fished rodman a couple times last yr and ran into some issues in the summer heat! I did really well fishing rattle traps around the stump fields in the spring but no luck at all in the summer, im guessin the fish probably move into the channel that rodman has during the summer, i bet if you find a spot near the stump fields in the channel and used a deep crank you may have some luck! I know that Rodman is known for huge bass though so i know they are in there! the bigger ones are usually caught on wild river shiners (which are 6-12in) and will run you about $1 a apiece at the local bait shops! Hope this info helps you land a lunker! Good LUCK!
