Bass Pro Shop Extremes.

If you can wait for a sale you can get them for 40% off the retail price.

Medium heavy, 7-foot with fast action.

Be sure to match the rod's parameters (line size and bait weight) with your reel and the baits and line test you throw.

Any major manufacturer brand will suffice so go with the rod that feels the most comfortable for you.

And one last tip: take your reel with you and put it on various rods to see how it sets and feels.

The Bait Monkey is proud of you!

I've been pleased with medium power rods with fast action as good, general-purpose rods. I use 6-1/2', but 7' should be good as well. I've used various brands. If you're near a Gander Mountain they have their own brand for $60.

I heartily agree. Factors that are important to me, such as handle length, supersede brand consideration.
