just picked up a new tech spec elite, looks nice (I like the blue), needed a rod over 7' (7'3" MHF) so I snagged this at DSG, its really like and balances out really well, I have it paired with a quantum KVD 6.4:1 reel.  im gonna try to test it out asap

My friend loves his, says its as good as his veritas if not better

I have one of the older ones(non elite) in 6ft6 m, it seems to outcast almost all of my other rods that are pricier and longer in length

Mine is the older model...a 6'8" Medium Medium-Fast.  Will launch a 1/2 oz. swim jig the proverbial country mile.  My original mistake was thinking it was a Medium/Fast.  Wasn't until I used it a couple days ago I realized the true power/action of the rod.  I now have another crankbait rod.  :teeth:

I like the looks of the blue rods, but am hoping to get one on sale.  So far my local DSG hasn't had a sale on them.

Looking forward to a review once you have had some time to fish it.  I know the older models are a very good rod for the money.  Can only assume the blue ones will also be a good value.

I will post a review after I get a chance to fish with it

I think the only difference from the normal series is that the blue ones have micro guides

The originals were the first technique specific rods I ever bought. For the money they can't be beat IMO. I know some people who have the newer spinning ones and say they are lighter and more sensitive. If they are as good as the originals, you can't go wrong

I have one of the original 7' MH/F spinning models and wanted something longer and tried the Clarus, Convergence and one other rod in that line up and ended up taking all the others back as the F&S rod was more sensitive. I also have one of the older 7'6" telescopic rods as well as the 7'3" Elite and for the price they can't be beat. Even better when they are on sale with a discount coupon and paid less than $50 for my Elite rod. Sensitive and powerful and one of the better bang for the buck rods out there.

finally got to put this thing on the water today, and I really like this rod, didn't catch anything overly large so I didn't get to see how it handles big fish but I got a couple small ones and it handled them with no problem, the rod flexes very well and it casts like a dream(I really like the micro guides), definitely would recommend this to others
