Why wouldn't they change that handle? I love my CI4 but the handle is awkward. The FJ has a better handle.

Great reels, but I agree with CrappieBasser, those handles are not the best for that reel. The older white and gold stradics had great handles.

I just received mine. I will hopefully test it tomorrow but its going to be 90 outside ugh..but..this thing feels very smooth and worth the money compared to my exo. I will be returning the exo tomorrow and will pair this ci4+ with my *** black rod that will be arriving tomorrow.

Have you had a chance to test it out?  Really tempted to get one, but I'd like some opinions first.  Ideally, get my hands on one first.

Yes, tested it tonight, the reel is MUCH better than the quantum EXO, VERY smooth and it casts very nice and smooth. I had different line on tonight though, I used spiderwire braid with the EXO and tonight I used powerpro. But, the reel opens and closes very easily, the EXO, I had to force close sometimes (thats why I returned it)

I caught a few 1-2 pounders, I wasn't able to pull in a hog (I had one on at the hook, but my line broke, I don't understand) but anyways,  if you are a spinner fisherman, the CI4+ is just awesome, BUY it!

Just ordered myself a 2500 from TW.  I have two Stradic FJ's that I love, have been waiting for Shimano to add Xship to the CI4.  I was really torn because I really wanted something lighter weight for my finesse rig, but unsure if the ultra lightweight of the CI4 will balance it properly.  I just can't see my way clear to drop an extra $150 on the Sustain to save that extra oz over the FJ.
