Broke about a foot from tip, a couple inches above the 4th eye counting down from tip..I broke it on a hook set.. Bass was still on when it jumped out of the water it looked every bit of 4 possibly 5 pounds but the same time it jumped and shook his head and got free..pretty bummed that was only the second or third time I took the rod out.. The plastic paper is still on the cork spot.. Now lets see how the customer service is! I'm still bummed I really liked the rod..

This is my first horror story with a new rod.. It almost makes me want to not fish with *** any more but I here guys have problems with all brand rods every once in a while.. It sucks and I keep telling my self "I should have went with the duckett" haha man I'm bummed

That sucks man! Keep us filled in, I'm sure a lot of members will be curious how their customer service treats you.

Thats too bad. That is the 1st one I have heard of.

I have landed plenty of bass well over 4lbs with all of my *** rods.

Not saying it is rampant, but I am sure we will see more as the popularity continues.  Hopefully it never reaches the Veritas level of breakage or them Carrot Sticks..lol  I'm starting to see these posts on other forums I frequent.  You are bound to get them like everyone else.

Nope, never! I baby all my stuff pretty much OCD with my equipment.. I'm not rich so it's a investment for me to purchase hundred dollar rods with me just being a weekend angler...

Have you contacted them or not yet? If you do please keep us updated. I just got 2 Omens and curious how this gets handled. Hope it gets worked out.

I haven't contacted them yet I have been pretty busy at work today.. But yeah that is why I posted this. I know a lot of people on here have These rods and we all really enjoy them.. I just hate being the one with the bad luck haha.. I haven't read one bad review.. 3 days ago i would have recommended these rods to any one and everyone but now it all depends on the customer service.. They are coming out with reels now too that looked interesting.

I will keep you fellas updated

Know exactly how you feel. A couple weeks ago, I broke about 4" off the tip of a G Loomis IMX. What a sickening sound. Got a full refund and purchased a GL3. I am now happy again.....lol

Did you return it where you purchased it or did you go through G.loomis? Man I would have been real sick to my stomach if I would have broke that!

I returned it to BPS. Now I know most of you know I work there, But that had nothing to do with me getting a refund. They would have done the same for anyone. BPS is very lenient with their return policy.  Anyone who has ever had to return something knows that. Great place to work, great place to shop.

I broke my 7'1 medium fast the exact same way, just about 3 guides down. I had out maybe two or three times.  It was on a 4#.  I had landed many in that same size on my 6"10 medium and no issues.  Maybe they had a bad batch in the 7'1 size.  Tackle warehouse has been great so far sending me a prepaid return label.  Hopefully I'll get mine back soon to start fishing again.

*** did recommend if I had an issue like that within a retailers return period to take it back.  I broke my 6'10 as well, but that was my own stupidity pulling a 5+lber out and putting weird pressure on the rod tip.  Got a replacement no problems since and have put it through its paces

This. Out of a billion reviews I read before pulling the trigger on mine, I didn't see any mention of any breakage. Like Ricky Bobby says, if you're not first, you're last!

I pray 13 doesn't turn into E21 I love the rods too much. I, no B.S., Must've caught 200 bass on my 6'7 m/f this year between local pond, practice, and tourneys. Not to mention a couple snags here and there when I really yank on it hard. Knock on wood, I've only busted 1 rod in my life from abuse and it was a ugly stick I used for snagging bunker. Hope everything works out bro!

Except for John the Mgr of our local BP fishing department. That guy makes me feel that going to Prison, really might not be such a bad thing!

Update:

I called *** at work and I talked to a guy named Matt. Those who think the rods are great the customer service is even better! No questions asked he didn't even ask how it happened. He told me to fill out a forum on the website and send the rod in! within 24 hours of receiving the broken rod they will send me another one/.. I asked if he needed a copy of the receipt from TW he said no because they have only been out a year...

I will keep every one updated on the process!!
