Can They Pull Up My License

I have lost my Fishing license, I asked and the replacement is 5 bucks, but they expire the 25th anyway. IS there anyway the wildlife officer can pull my card number up by drivers license or something, I did go online and look up my number and I wrote it down, just in case; would that help? if it was May or June  id pay the 5 bucks but since it is only 2 weeks away and I might make it to the lake probably about 4 times till then.

If you got your license online you can probable go back to the site and get a reprint of it.

 

Tip: If you buy your license online you can usually save a copy to your computer for access later.

 

You can also print multiple copies; I keep one in my wallet, one in my boats glove box, one in a tackle box, and one in my truck.

 

I also keep multiple copies of my vehicle registrations, I have the originals in the vehicles and copies in the house.  This is a lesion learned from a friend who had a car stolen; when talking with the police he had no idea what his tag number was or anything, just that it was a 05 blue ford.

I don't know what state you're in but in New York no.

Funny story; I got busted without my license once. I left it in another tacklebox. The officer said just mail In a copy with the ticket and problem solved. The license has the issue date on it. So I mailed in the ticket with the license and got an appearance letter back. Called the court and the clerk told me I had to appear in front of the judge anyways. The only day the town court was open was a day I had a college night class. I was able to get the date postponed once then had a big test on the next date. I had to get a family friend who is a lawyer to get it postponed again. Long story short it took about 5 months to get it straighted out and the lawyer had to go to court with me. I ultimately was let go "in the interest of justice". Make some copies of the license and keep them in different places.

There is an app called Key Ring that lets you store plastic membership cards on your smart phone. You can type in basic info and photos of the front and back of the cards. I also have my licenses and registrations in it.  But on one test I did a barcode reader did not read the barcode photo.

Yes, they can if they want to. But they do not have to. If you get a nice warden he may take you back to his truck with him and run your info through dispatch to confirm. If you have a busy officer or a ***** he will write you a ticket and move on. You have to have it on your person. A buddy of mine had to do it twice, the officer is a good friend so he didnt mind it but I suspect he would not go to that much trouble with someone else. It stopped our fishing for a while when he was getting his info checked though. 

 

If you can print it online, do it! Print 5 copies. One for your truck, one for your boat, one in your wallet, and the other two somewhere in boxes.

Any time you purchase a license online you can print a copy. Just hit print and when you select your printer it allows you to print multiple copies.

Is your printed one only void for 2 weeks then? That sort of stinks. You might want to just pony up the $5. Its less than the cost of a pack of senkos to ensure you do not get a ticket!

Even if a state's online program will only allow you to "print" one license, that doesn't stop you from making several copies.  There is no reason you cannot print several copies.  When you get to the "print your license" page, and click on print, your printer control page should open.  Go to "number of copies", and put whatever number you want, and the printer will print them.

 

Even if their program somehow didn't allow it, place the printed page in your printer to scan and copy it. 

 

All the states that I have purchased licenses from online allow you to look up and print another license until the license expires.  I think it's NH that allows you a short period to look up, and reprint your license.

 

Like others, I print several copies.  One for my wallet, another for my boat, another in the tackle bag I always use whether I'm fishing on my boat or someone else's, and one at hope in case I need to print another.  Those in my boat and tackle bag are stored in zip lock freezer bags to keep them dry.

I take a picture of it with my phone incase i lose mine. I always have my phone on me.

Just like everyone else, mine is at the bottom of my tackle box.

what some people are missing here is and was mentioned once above, in NC when you buy a license online, you dont print the real license out, you print out a temporary license that is good for only 10-14 days, cant remember exactly, then they mail you a permanent license. so you cant print as many as you want. Now i dont know if that will prevent you from making photocopies once you get the permanent license.

 

anyways, just go ahead and buy a new license altogether, you will have to in two weeks anyways. losing a couple weeks isnt so bad...

I am not 100% if printed one looses its merit when I get a real one, I kept but moved, it is in the house, but I am sure my real one is aswell, turned this place upside down and cant find it, though next time around I will print. I am tabbed over on the wildlife page and am checking

I cant find any place to reprint, I can reprint for 5 bucks, or renew my previous one, since it is close to my expiration date,  Not sure if they will send me a new card if I renew, cause it wont let me buy another license only, only renew or replace, I know renew means to buy for the next year, but I don't get why it says I cant purchase, only renew ??
