BuffaloBass716 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Ive only really had luck with plastic worms. I have some crawfish plastics but never got anything on them. What would be some good creature baits to start on for the summer months. also, I live up north so the hottest it gets is around 90 degrees F, but not often. thanks for the help. Quote

lanzbass Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I have only been fishing Bass for 3 years and the first bass I got was on a streamer fly , with long white tail with a dark green silver spotted worm , red body and silver head ! Works wonders to this day Quote
Mccallister25 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Do the regular brush hogs work pretty good? I picked a pack up yesterday. The baby brush hogs looked too small. Quote
Stren_g Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 They do, I've had better luck with the baby brush hogs though. Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Not so much a creature bait as it is a grub but the Yamamoto Fat Ika is amazing! Quote
Loop_Dad Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Do the regular brush hogs work pretty good? I picked a pack up yesterday. The baby brush hogs looked too small. I remember similar thread before. More people seems to like baby brush hogs but some like the regular one better, including me. Quote

Super User Sam Posted July 16, 2013 Super User Posted July 16, 2013 Buffalo, here aew my suggestions regarding creature baits. 1. Zoom Baby Brush Hog. 2. Remove the upper part of the legs where they are attached to the body allowing the bottom part of the legs to stay attached. 3. Get green pumpkin, watermelon and Junebug colors. 4. Dye last 1/4 inch of tail in lime or yellow. 5. Throw bait on any presentation you wish and any jig head or Texas rig from a spinning rig. Use an Extra Wide hook if not on a jig head. 6. Throw it all over but mostly to the shore and back; around any wood or grass; by and under docks, boathouses and pilings. Use 8-pound Yo-Zuri on spinning rigs and 12 pound Yo-Zuri on baitcasters. Keep finger on line at all times to fee for the strikes. Watch your line, too. Have fun. Quote
BrianSnat Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I like the Yamamoto Kreature and the Rage Space Monkey. Quote
