Super User OkobojiEagle Posted July 14, 2010 Super User Posted July 14, 2010 I'm looking for a true floating worm... not neutrally buoyant, but one that will float directly to the surface when released. I want the tail of a jig/worm to lift strait up from the bottom... quickly! 5" to 7" will do. Give me your selection, but don't lie about the buoyancy! Steve Quote
Steven Ladner Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Don't recall if they float to the surface, but a Roboworm does great. Love them on a shakey head Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 14, 2010 Super User Posted July 14, 2010 The red lable 3X Strike King worms, and the Renegade (sold at Walmart) straight worms in the kit with 4 colors. I have tested about a dozen of the so called floating worms and those are the only two I found that really float. Quote
Al Wolbach Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 If you want a worm that will lift the weight of the hook also the SK 3x is the only one that I know off. And I would still use a light wire hook..........Al Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted July 14, 2010 Super User Posted July 14, 2010 The Owner shakey worm floats.. http://www.***.com/Owner_Shaky_Worm_65/descpage-OSHW.html Quote
Brian4618 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 For a smaller profile, the Strike King 3X finesse worms are true floating worms. Quote
rboat Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I believe Gambler makes a floating worm, but don't hold me to it. Quote
brushhoggin Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 the stanley sidewinder does a darn good job floating rigged weightless Quote
Super User David P Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 Try DichosoBaits . He can make it with several different types of plastic, one of which totally floats.. You can also pick from a ton of colors (or request a custom color), plus you can add your selection of flake to it. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 I believe Gambler makes a floating worm, but don't hold me to it. They sure do, and it has been my most productive floating worm over the years. Quote
buzzcatcher Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 http://www.deepcreeklures.net/khxc/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=display&ref=splash These are pretty hot in my circle. And they smell exactly like JJ's and hold that smell forever I think. I highly recommend these. Buzz Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted July 16, 2010 Super User Posted July 16, 2010 I too have had good luck with the Strike King 3X Finesse 7" they do float and are super stretchy. Ive had a few melt though. Quote

hitchhiker Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 For a smaller profile, the Strike King 3X finesse worms are true floating worms. Totally love these, try them with a light wire hook with a split shot or carolina rig. They work great. I really have to try the ribbon tails, they look really nice. Quote
