I'm going to be moving from Alabama to the Jacksonville, FL area, close to the St. Johns river in the next few months. I own a little boat, but being close to saltwater, I'm wanting to upgrade to a bigger boat that I can fish in both salt and freshwater. I've done some research and really like the Triton TX series, that has the stainless trim and hardware and non skid surface instead of carpet. I dont' have the budget for a new boat and I'm having some difficulty finding a used 'bass and bay' boat. Any ideas on boats and/or where to look? I've been all over craigslist and boattrader.com but still haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Good luck, they are out there but they are scarce. I was looking for the same thing, I live 5 min from Sabine Lake, and 2 hours from Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend here in Texas. I just couldnt justify that much money for a boat that I couldnt use in both salt and fresh water. Almost bought a bay boat but didnt really like the center console setup.

I dont know how far your willing to travel, but you might add the Louisianna Sportsmans classifieds to your list. I saw a few there back when I was looking.

During my search I found boats from Champion, Triton, Ranger, Blazer, ProGator, and was told by a Skeeter rep that they had made one at one time. You might look for them If you havnt already. Also the best two search terms i found were "bass n bay" and "salt water bass boat"

.

Ended up finding an old Broadhead aluminum custom boat near where i live. Couldnt pass it up. Bass boat layout, heavy (3/16") alum construction. Solid and rides as good as my dads champion. Perfect for salt or fresh as far as im concerned.

Good luck, hope some of that helps.
