I just experimented with fluorocarbon line for the first time (segaur red label) and was unhappy with the amount of memory. i do use line conditioner as well. It isn't to the point that I can't fish with it, but I would like to have a few perks of fluoro (sensitivity and visibility) without the line management issues. Is yozuri a good medium? I

Just need a few opinions so I don't throw money down the drain. Thanks guys.

Its a good medium, pretty good all purpose line. I didn't like red label either as main line, much better luck with BPS. The YZ is about 10 bucks for 600yd spools on ebay or at sports authority, not much of an investment in comparison to buying under 300 yards of YZ for 11 bucks at Bass pro.

Thank diggy. I thought about invisx but never considered BPS. Sports authority huh? That's pretty cheap for 600yds..

Oh yeah, is the line visibility close to that of fluoro? The bass in a pressured pond I fish won't even hit mono above 6 lb test on tough days.

Its pretty good but you may want to buy 100% fluoro then. YZ is cheap enough to try though since its 10 bucks to see if it works. You can use the red label as leader, it works well for that if you also have a braid rod. I may be trying Invizx/abrazx myself since I need to respool

The YZ is/was actually 13 for 600yds at sports authority but they seem to have been putting them on clearance in many tests for 8-10 bucks.

I've said this many times. Buying at least a mid-grade FC removes so many issues with the cheaper brands. Seaguar invizx is a great choice and sunline fc sniper even better. It is well worth the money.

While using yozuri hybrid I did not like the memory or sensitivity of the line. Its not horrific, just not even close to performance with a mid grade FC. It shouldn't be, its less than a third of the price. On a good note yozuri is very powerful having breaking strengths almost twice its rating.

In conclusion, if you aren't looking to put a lot of money into the line I would go with YZH, if you dont mind spending more than a mid to high grade fluoro is fantastic.

I have no problems with memory.  What size line are you using?

12lb yozuri hybrid. It was not terrible memory and did not effect my fishing really. But in comparison, the FC. I mentioned fair far better with manageability and memory among other things.

I would pick yozuri over a cheap fc like vicious any day. It also is a pretty useful spinnerbait line

I have the same experience. My Yo-Zuri reel is a tad more hassle than my Invizx one, both 12#. Yo-Zuri is still great line and I would recommend it 8 days a week, but it needs a bit of TLC and KVD.

I really like Yo zuri for moving baits, and even topwater. It gives away a good amount of sensitivity to fluoro though, so for bottom contact lures like jigs, I much prefer fluoro.

YZ is a fluoro coated line so its refractive index is mainly determined by its nylon content, not the fluoro coating.  So IMO, no, YZ doesn't have the same low visibility as 100% fluoro.  The coating will help to reduce water absorption, which is a good thing.

Hybrid actually is not a fluoro coated nylon. It's both fluoro and nylon bonded together (mostly nylon). P Line fluoroclear is a coated nylon line. I would actually use Hybrid before Invisx. Personally I think Invizx is way to stretchy. Even more so than a lot of pure nylon lines. Invisx does handle very well, but the extra stretch kinda defeats the purpose of a fluoro IMO. If I'm concerned about visibility I just down size to a smaller diameter line. If you want a great fluoro that won't break the bank, try the NEW improved Sufix. It's outstanding. I like it more than Sniper.

Can you elaborate on

Can you elaborate on why you like the suffix? Ive always been happy with their lines, no experience and very little info out there on the fluro.

Thanks

It just handles better than any other fluoro I've tried including, Sniper, Abrazx, PLine 100%, and a couple others. I think it's from the precision winding. Reviews at *** are spot on, which is rare. It is a little thicker than some fluoros, but it is super abrasion resistant, strong, and ties great knots. I have the 5, 7, and 10 lb. tests
