My quantum exo spinning reel came in the other day and now I am looking for a good rod to put it on. Can anyone recommend a rod up to 120$? I use weightless plastics or maybe a frog top water here and there. Ive been eyeing the abu vendetta and veritas but reading mixed reviews about them breaking easily. Thanks

Out of those I'd go Clarus, I have 2 Vendettas, and I think with that nice of a reel I'd be disappointed in the rod.  Not sensitive enough IMO for the plastics.  I use mine for frogging.

Definitely check out the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rods.  Light, sensitive, well built, but getting harder to find below MSRP.

EDIT:  Oops.  Too late.  Didn't realize it was you that bought the Veritas.  Good luck with it.

I went with the Veritas got it for 79. They forgot to take out the 79 4th of july blowout tag lol

At that price that is a good deal, hopefully you double checked guides and the build quality.  I would've voted for the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth (like the post above me), it is a very light rod and very sensitive.  Just to keep that in mind for future reference.  If you want 7', I just bought my first Fenwick Aetos spinning rod last week.  I got a M/F rod.  So far it is awesome, it is my splitshot rig, moderate cover drop shot rod and weightless worms.  They are my fill in the blank rods and fished as much as my GLXs and Cumaras.

Was recently cleaning up my PMs.  Found one on the Supreme XT spinning reel.  Looked for it.  Not on a rod.  Not in dresser drawers with my other reels.  Hmmm.  Look on top shelf in closet.  Bingo!  Now I need a new spinning rod.  :teeth:

Smallmouth, Aetos, Pinnacle, Powell, ***, or ....?  Will be a M or ML, but not sure of action yet.  Have to see what I already have.  You hear great things about all those rods.  I'm leaning towards the Pinnacle or Aetos.

The *** is not as sensitive as I would like it to be. Great rod though.

I was also of that opinion based on the feedback I was getting from a spinnerbait, but hate to make such a claim until I can get on a lake.  I don't like fishing moving water.  Others think it is the best thing since stuff crust pizza.  :teeth3:

Can't say anything about the Pinnacle, but this is my 2nd Aetos rod.  They both are sensitive and great rods, I have a 7'6" H/F casting rod that I just used to pitch just this last weekend.  I have a Curado E7, balances pretty well not perfect, but it wasn't heavy and didn't feel like I was going to lose my arm or anything.  I used the spinning rod sunday night for dropshotting and I'll say it's not much more noticeably sensitivite than an Elite Tech Smallmouth.  I will have to fish them more side by side however to make a final judgement.  Balances very well with my new Stradic 2500 FJ,  I think you won't be disappointed.

Ever since I bought my first Fenwick rod (Aetos) almost 3 months ago, I added 3 of them.  (1 Aetos and 2 Elite Techs)

The rod construction is great and is by far one of the better rods in that price range. I just know compared to my Irod, it does not hold a candle, but then again maybe it shouldn't. I would love to try an ***.

Well I decided to return the veritas but Gander only had the fenwick walleye rods, so I just ordered the *** black from TW. Also I am returning my quantum exo which feels cheap for the price and ordered the new stradic CI4+. So definitely upgrading for almost the same price the setup I had felt way to cheap for the $
