WiscoBassman Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 This isn't exactly a big smallie, but it was the biggest one that I caught since the drought last year in the Milwaukee River. This one was a very close contender for the day, but it fought like there was no tomorrow and it was making my drag scream! I caught them both with a Rapala Husky jerk in silver. I would usually have been fly fishing for them, but my fly rod's tip is broken now. 1 Quote
Snakehead Whisperer Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 A couple of really good looking fish. What fly patterns do you use to target them? Quote

Super User Crestliner2008 Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 Fine looking bass. Congrats! River smallies are some really tough brutes...and an awful lot of fun to boot. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I'm making a tri for river smallies this weekend, can't wait! Quote
WiscoBassman Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Thanks everybody! I'm going out again today, this time with a fly rod, and I'll see if I can maybe beat those ones Quote
