This isn't exactly a big smallie, but it was the biggest one that I caught since the drought last year in the Milwaukee River.

This one was a very close contender for the day, but it fought like there was no tomorrow and it was making my drag scream!

I caught them both with a Rapala Husky jerk in silver. I would usually have been fly fishing for them, but my fly rod's tip is broken now.

A couple of really good looking fish. What fly patterns do you use to target them?

I use mostly clouser minnows, sneaky petes, and brown conehead wooly buggers

Fine looking bass. Congrats! River smallies are some really tough brutes...and an awful lot of fun to boot. :)

Thanks everybody! I'm going out again today, this time with a fly rod, and I'll see if I can maybe beat those ones
