Hey!!!

So with all this rain we have gotten, in south Florida, water height has risen, causing certain parts of the lake to flow. This in turn has caused the fishing to be a bit more difficult. To fight this I've been fishing shallow covered waters with no current. I'm just wondering what other people are doing.

Thanks for the info!!!

Yes, I agree. After the early morning the bite completely stops and you really have to work for the fish.

yea. I haven't gone back up in a few weeks. Seems like a waste of a trip for a couple hours of fishing then to bake for nothing rest of the day.

Yes, I totally agree. I hope the water level goes down soon so I can start going out there again.

Judging by the water levels north of the Lake, it is going to go a lot higher before it comes down anytime soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see 15.5 before long. The Kissimmee basin and Fisheating Creek area saw a tremendous amount of rain during June and a lot of that still needs to work its way down. Throw in a soaker depression and a wet couple of weeks and it could be a lot more. I'm sure the Corps doesn't want to see it at 16 but there is only so much that can be let out.

Yea its going to take awhile for the water level to go down. Hopefully before summer ends. South Florida's greatest fishery is going to be out of commission for a while :cry4:

Not too mention we have a wave coming in this weekend thats going to dump rain like crazy all over the state.

They dont stop eating late you just have to hunt them down, in fact the big fish eat in the middle of the day, yes even in the summer.

I don't understand all the negativity like the Lake "being out of commission". When the Lake went up a year ago, the fishing was crazy good.

I was on the lake today. Fishing was great. Had to look around for a while before I found them. Most of our fish were caught on the Gambler Big EZ and my hand poured frogs. Our best area was in the Kissimmee grass.
