Rayraff Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Like the title explains. My bottle of jj's opened up in my car and it spilled a few dropped making a chartreuse spot about 1in in diameter. I'm tired of smelling garlic all the way to work. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted July 11, 2010 Super User Posted July 11, 2010 That's actually a good question though....I would scrub it and dry then try to cover up with some Febreze. Quote
Gamec0cks5 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Get "Tuff Stuff" carpet cleaner and douse it and then let it sit for a little bit, then blot it with a rag. Then vacuum the spot and see if that works that stuff takes some smell away. Also if you get the citrus Aerosol air freshener stuff at wally world that helps too, it got the fish smell out of a friends car. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 11, 2010 Super User Posted July 11, 2010 Lots and lots of prayer and elbow grease with some kind of super cleaner. Some of those foam automotive upholstery cleaners may help out if you let it soak in for a while. Whatever you use, may sure you spot test it in an inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn't change the color of the fabric. Quote
Big-O Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Soak and scrub the area with hot soapy water let sit for a minute and vacuum...repeat, repeat, repeat. Vacuum moisture for an extended length of time then let sun dry and apply auto deodorant....It's very important to keep the windows down outside in the heat for as long as possible after cleaning. Happened to me too and glad it was color so I could see it and not clear or I'da sold my truck Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Rayraff Posted July 11, 2010 Author Posted July 11, 2010 Thanks for the tips. I used a ton of febreeze and some carpet cleaner. The smell is a more bearable now. Ill do it once a day until i can't smell it anymore. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 Store the bottles in a ziploc bag. Quote
MNGeorge Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I don't know how it would work on fabric, but Listerine helps get the smell off my fingers after using JJ's. Quote
airborne_angler Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Wanna get rid of the JJ's smell? Rub some Megastrike on it and the JJ's smell might go away... ;D Quote
Rayraff Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 Its a 1in diameter spot in my truck. Worst comes to worst I'll just cut the spot out. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 I would enjoy the aroma and think good things about my past and future fishing trips. Of course, I love the smell of crawfish sitting in my garage waiting for our crawfish boil so I guess I am not that great of a source for a solution. Quote
