Who hoo.... One of my favorite rods! I have two of them. I'll probably buy another 714 which is also a must have for powell / jig fishermen.

Nice fish in your pic Adam

Yeah I took a max 703 on trade and loved it so I picked up a 723. Looks like the sale is over now though. Dang it!

Dang...I was hoping to snag a couple more and completely phase out my old dawia and castaway stuff... I guess I'll wait and see what Powells new rod looks like...also been considering either a legend extreme or a Glx for a new jig rod.

Glad that you boys are satisfied with your Powells.

Pretty much the only rods I plan on buying from now on. IMO, by far the best rods for the money.

I like them more. Personally I like the cork more than foam. They are super sensitive, right up there with my Dobyns Champ IMO. Possibly my favorite aspect is that they balance so well with any reel I put on them. I've put a Curado 51e and an old Gen 1 Revo S on my 723CEF and the rod still balances amazingly.

I picked up a Powell Max 734 this spring and this is one bad azz rod. It fishes so many baits very good. I want to get another one but I am kinda waiting around to see what the new ones are gonna be like.
