Super User Teal Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 They're great rods. I ordered a 723 endurance 2wks ago and I'm ordering another tomorrow. Who hoo.... One of my favorite rods! I have two of them. I'll probably buy another 714 which is also a must have for powell / jig fishermen. Nice fish in your pic Adam Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 Yeah I took a max 703 on trade and loved it so I picked up a 723. Looks like the sale is over now though. Dang it! Thanks it's my new Pb. 5.14 Quote
Super User Teal Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 Dang...I was hoping to snag a couple more and completely phase out my old dawia and castaway stuff... I guess I'll wait and see what Powells new rod looks like...also been considering either a legend extreme or a Glx for a new jig rod. Glad that you boys are satisfied with your Powells. Quote
Arv Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Pretty much the only rods I plan on buying from now on. IMO, by far the best rods for the money. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 They're still on sale but @ 139 instead of 109 Quote

THE BASS WHISPERER Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 How do they compare to your Phenix? How do they compare to your Phenix? not sure! i but i have a g lommis GL2 jig and worm and a quantum smoke! as good if not better than the lommis Quote
Arv Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 How do they compare to your Phenix? I like them more. Personally I like the cork more than foam. They are super sensitive, right up there with my Dobyns Champ IMO. Possibly my favorite aspect is that they balance so well with any reel I put on them. I've put a Curado 51e and an old Gen 1 Revo S on my 723CEF and the rod still balances amazingly. Quote
Indiana Bass1 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I picked up a Powell Max 734 this spring and this is one bad azz rod. It fishes so many baits very good. I want to get another one but I am kinda waiting around to see what the new ones are gonna be like. Quote
