dpeels37354 Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Any advice on what baits to throw and whether to fish deep or shallow? Thanks. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 7, 2013 Super User Posted July 7, 2013 Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, Chatterbaits, Cavitrons. Any plastic of your choice. Just find the pattern in the rain and you will be "singing in the rain." Quote

wnybassman Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Fish the same way you would as if it wasn't raining, but wear a rain coat. 1 Quote
dpeels37354 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Well that didn't go very well no fish. The water looked like chocolate milk. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 Well that didn't go very well no fish. The water looked like chocolate milk. Tough luck, I was out in the rain today...used a spinnerbait, crankbait, buzzbait and texas rigged worms. Nothing, I decided to put a drop shot where I know where fish usually are and slam. In a hour caught 6 before I just couldn't take anymore rain. All weren't very big, biggest was 2lbs. Also lost my drop shot rig on a big snapping turtle too. Thought I had a big one, realized it was turtle when I was bringing it in...the line snapped when the turtle notice me. Quote
Kevin22 Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Spinnerbait and chatterbait have been the best for me in the rain. This is sprinkle and light rain, I don't fish in downpours or storms. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I was with my friend when he caught this 5.57 lbs bass with a squarebill in the rain... Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted July 8, 2013 Super User Posted July 8, 2013 Fished the big rains in east Tenn this weekend.....awesome....awesome. Topwater, worms, cranks, it all worked and then got into the white bass too and fished for ten hours in the rain and plain got soaked. Will be drying out boat for a few days!! Quote
