PoorBoyBassin Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Buddy and I went fishin yesterday an yoked up on a few nice fish in the 4 hours we spent on the water. This is one of our fav lakes to fish. Its about 15 acers of stump fields an stick ups. The water is up two foot from all the rain we've had , normaly you can see 90% of the tops of the stumps in 5 feet of water, but on this day.. as you can tell.. cant see many... their there though.. I've broke a trollin motor already out there lololol. All those bass were 4 pounds or better. Caught several in the 2-3 pound range and 20 + in the 1 pound range. This citation crappppppy hit a G-Splash 3.5 like he was a 5 pound bass! This was his last top water fish of the morning... once he caught that lil guy.. he put the G-Splash down! lolol He caught most of his off the G-Splash an BitsyBug and I caught mine on a T-1 Terminator Spinnerbait (blue gill pattern), and a BPS pro shakeyhead with a zoom 7inch green pumpkin trick worm. Awesome DAY!!!! Tight lines all!! PoorBoy 1 Quote

Mccallister25 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Those are great pics, and that is one hell of a crappie. Iv never fished from a boat, but I want to so bad. I suspect its a whole different ballgame as apposed to bank fishing. Quote
BamaBassChaser Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 That's a really nice looking place to fish. Quote
PoorBoyBassin Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Hit a dif pond first thing this morning, only caught one fish worth speaking of... an it wasnt a bass, was a 9pound blue cat! Its a hawg heavin if there ever was one! Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted July 16, 2013 Super User Posted July 16, 2013 Nice looking lake. You guys caught some nice ones! Quote
PoorBoyBassin Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 Hit the pond this evening with my fishing partner. Thinking it would be a decent top water bite, overcast temps in the low 80s , water levels were up just a bit, but alittle on the muddy side. Threw the, G-splash, buzzbait, with only one decent fish, that went 3.2, nice chunker on the G-splash. Around 8ish we pulled up to this tree..... I threw out this fluke right here on a Gama 4/0 widegap, landed right next to the tree. I set the pole down long enough to light up a smoke, picked it back up, an my line was running at a right angle away from the tree. I set the hook, and the fight was on! The fished pulled my little two man bassin buddy around in circles for a good 3 minutes, pulling drag from jump street, at one point I had to even further losin the drag, because the fish was pulling so hard, and I was fishing the fluke on ten pound Berkley Trilene biggame, didnt want to break off. Sometimes when you get a biggun like this, they cant hardly jump out of the water, normaly they get about half way up an out an shake once n back down they go, at this point she came out of the water just like that, an I realized two things! first, she was gonna tilt the scales a bit, an two.. she was hooked in the sweet meat in the corner of the jaw! She wasnt gonna spit the hook! So I had to play with the drag a bit an let her have her own head about the water an wait... with stumps an laydowns all around that area, it was only maybe 4 5 minutes of fighting time, but as alot of you can agree, when you have a fish like that on the line... those 5 minutes feel like an hour! It was a good fight, an I won in the end, only to release her back into the lake so maybe next spring Ill get her with some eggs an alot more weight This pond is producing some good fish for us this year, cant wait till fall an see what kinda lunkers we pull out! Did I mention that this is also my personal best so far for the year an still alot of fishing time left! Im on the hunt for them bigger then bigger bucket mouths! Tight lines all! Poorboy! 1 Quote
Fishmaster10 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Congrats on your best of the year! How much did it end up weighing? Quote
PoorBoyBassin Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 7.3 was the weight. which is only an ounce better then my PB at the beginning of the year of 7.2. But an ounce is an ounce an sometimes that extra will win for you in the end ... lolol if I could ever catch somethin that big in a tournament! lolol Quote
