Favorite Drop Shot Baits

Title says it all. I'm trying to get into dropshot fishing, and I was wondering what you guys like to tie on.

I've been catching the heck out of bass with a Berkley powerbait twitch-tail minnow! I also use finesse worms and such but this bait has been golden the last month or so.

I was thinking of getting Strike King KVD Dream Shot.  Does anyone have luck with these?

Minnow - lunker hunter bento minnow in dance and zoom tiny fluke in baby bass.

Creature - keitech hog impact 3" in cola and tiny brush hog in watermelon red

Lizard - zoom mini 4" lizard your choice of color

Straight tail worm - roboworm 6" your choice of color.

Senko - gary yama 3" 4" 5" your choice of color.

Hook- owner mosquito hook or Vmc spinshot

I will drop shot just about any thing, but when times are tough and I just NEED to catch a fish, a nose hooked zoom tiny fluke comes through time and time again.

Finesse worm has become one of my favorites.  Rigged on a 1/0 weedless OR Wacky.

Yes, they are great. The SK KVD finesse, and fat baby finesse also work well.

Not very common,  but i like the 4.75 inch berkley havoc bottom hopper in black. Nice and cheap, too.

Robo's - Straight tail, sculpin, and zipper worm, misc smaller tubes, and here recently, PTL's hammer shad.

I am usually nose hooking the 4 1/2" Robo worms on the drop shot. Followed by 3" Sluggos and then Case Helgrammites. If you do not get bit on either of these, there are no fish where you are fishing!

x2  I really like the Dream Shot. It is soft though and doesn't last long. Invest in some mend-it while you're at it.

This is very true. I've found that I can get a bit more life out of them if I first hook them through the bait with the point of the hook in the plastic, then switch to a standard nose hooking after a fish or 2. I don't think I've ever caught more than 2-3 fish before the bait was destroyed. The fat baby finesse are a larger profile and seem to be more durable while still providing the delicate action of the dream shot. These are my go to ds worms when fishing in current/tidal water or dead sticking.

PowerTeam Lures 3.6" JP Hammer Shad. Killer little baitfish imitator, loaded with scent, durable as heck, and it floats, unlike some previously mentioned baits like the dream shot and kut tail worms. Sometimes something that sits like a real baitfish does gets more bites instead of hanging down from your hook at a 45 degree angle because its full of salt.

Zoom Z-Drop in Morning Dawn and Watermelon Red has been killing them for me lately. I have yet to be skunked if it comes down to throwing a drop shot after I fish everything else first.

I have had success with squirrel tails after running out of finesse worms in a tournament. I now start out with them.
