Ok so my sister is buying me a hat for my birthday and I have 2 choices, a hat signed by Edwin Evers or a hat signed by Roland Martin. Which one do you think is better and more known so I know which one to choose.

Not a fan of Roland at all. His show is a 30 minute commercial disguised as a fishing show and I've heard he's a real jerk in person. I like Evers. Great fisherman and was really nice to all the fans I saw him talking to at the Classic.

Evers or Roland Martin, as far as fishing history goes, one is in the fishing hall of fame the other isn't!  So if it were based on some type of potential monetary or historical value in the long run I would go with Martin and I bet Evers would too! As far as personality and judgment of character that is a tough call and it is up to the individual to decide.

Roland Martin was a pioneer in the sport and i know a few people who have talked to him and they said he was the nicest guy and gave them some pointers too.

Bottom line is who cares really......get them both

Yeah, get them both if you can. I used to love Roland , Bill, Jimmy, and all of the old guys that were icons when I was first getting into fishing. I tend to favor the new guys of the sport now for whatever reason. I prefer Scott Martin over Roland but that's me ;) They're all amazing fisherman!

I know a buddy of mine who was fishing close to Roland up here in Minnesota one day and he was catching while Roland wasn't. Roland was trying to get some footage for his show and he kept looking over at my buddy netting fish after fish so he finally came over and asked him what he was throwing. I don't remember what magic lure my buddy was using but when Roland asked, my buddy, who's quite the smart ass,  just looked at him and said, "You're Roland Martin, you tell me." Roland just looked at him for a second with a frown and then started laughing.

No idea which hat you should get, my rule of thumb is if your decision won't effect your life 5 years down the road, don't worry about it too much. How about eeny meeny minnie mo?
