mcipinkie Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Lake Jacomo - Monday Night, July 1, 2013No report for last week other than Nate Flynn and Mike Hunsucker won at 6.9 lbs. I have been involved with some business and just didn't get it done. The weather was fantastic this Monday night, and the turn out showed it. We had 15 boats. That is our largest ever turnout. I only put room on the weigh in board for 18. With several new people coming out this week and last, if all the regulars return, we'll be keeping score on paper. Come on out.I have been predicting the fishing to turn on at Lake Jacomo and it apparently has. 11 - 2 fish limits were weighed in this week. Other teams had a fish or two, they chose not to weigh. The big fish are still hard to find, but keepers are all over the lake. Joe Almohtadi and Adam Almohtadi won with a 2 - fish limit at 6.4 lbs. Adam had big fish at 4.2 lbs. Water temp is 80 plus or minus a couple degrees. I caught my fish on a Money Craw in the water willows. With this many fish caught, it looks like multiple patterns were successful.Last week was threatening rain, so only 8 boats came out. 5 limits were weighed in. Every one had at least one keeper.Blue Springs is fishing tonight, and every Tuesday, from 600P to 930P. $50 entry. 4 - fish limit. Their summer jackpot tournament is next week, July 9. $100 entry. No qualifying. 600P to 1000P.Jacomo Wednesday night is on again from 600P to 930P. $40 entry. 4 - fish limit. We're back on next Monday from 600P to 930P. $30 entry. 2 -fish limit. As you know, we set these tournaments up with the two fish limit so a person can fish alone. We had 5 singles this week. It's not that much of a handicap.Come on out and fish any of these tournaments. Good fun. Reasonable entry. Close to home.A little bragging, if you don't mind. I fished the Joe Bass tournament at Pomme de Terre weekend before last. I caught over 20 keepers, and ended up with 14.98 lbs. Two at 4 lbs, two at 2 1/2, one at 2. Just couldn't upgrade the two pounder. Finished 7th place, just a few ounces short of winning the high Skeeter money. I fish these alone and have cashed in two of the three tournaments I've entered. Not bad for an old man. 1 Quote

MXHalofan Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Hey Minnow, did you get any responses? I signed up after seeing this. I need to spend some time with bass guys. I have a pontoon on Jacomo, but haven't gotten the trolling motor yet. If there's any guys fishing alone that want a non boater I'd be real happy to get in. I live close to the lake and willing to share time on the pontoon grilling etc. If I don't hear anything on here, I'll be at Jacomo Monday night ready and asking around if someone wants a non boater. See you guys then. If anyone wants to call or text, my cell is 816-679-3296 Thanks alot Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Wow, just reread this. MCI, you were killing them on Pom. I need to get over there sometime. Quote

How much are the boat permits for Jacomo? I found a listing of prices on the Jackson Co website but it's a little confusing. It would be a non resident permit for a 16' boat with a 60hp motor. It says it has a HP limit but I can't find one? All I found was that it's $1.80 for the first 10hp then $.70 for every HP after that? Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 25hp is the limit for fishing boats. 40 for pontoons and sailboats. My lake pass for my pontoon with a 40 was about $40. Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I'll be down there at Jacomo tonight in the parking lot asking around to get on a boat. I've got everything I need. Just need to get on a boat. Anyone need a non boater please let me know. Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I didn't get on a boat last night at Jacomo, but got to meet some nice folks and watched the weigh in. Saw lots of big fish and several 4 lb'ers. Looked like it must have been some good fishing. I've been looking at Jon boats on CL ever since. Anyone need a non boater for Wed night? I'm your guy Quote
DADAKOTA Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I figured MCpinkie would have paired up with ya since he fished alone. Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Getting my trolling motor 24v setup on my toon. Building a live well. Gonna try to boat some fish and might enter with the toon. It's slow to get across the lake so gonna kick it around. Quote
