Hey guys,

Starting a new thread to discuss this reel. I've been researching what spinning reel to purchase the past couple of days and when I was about to pull the trigger for a Ci4, I noticed the EXO on sale at Walmart for 150$, so I placed my online order there. The description on Walmarts website was for the 25 series, but my receipt shows that the model # is the 30 series. Is there a big difference between a 25 and 30? I hope it doesn't take forever to ship, my shimano sedona is broke!

Does anyone here own an EXO spinner? Please comment!

Couple of the pros like Shaw Grigsby fish them but I have no experience with it at all. It's a very light reel along with the smoke and only your time on the water will let you know how good it is and performs. I fish most Quantum reels and just haven't added this one to the arsenal yet!!

Two of my buddies use Quantums, they have nothing but good to say. If I had the scratch I would have bought that deal. My first BC reel will be a Quantum most likely though. Only difference in 25 to 30 is it is a slightly larger reel, little more wieght, little more line capacity and little more drag. According to TW it is .5 ounces heavier and it is 10/150 for line versus 8/150 for the 25 size

I'd prefer the 30 over the 25.

I don't own a freshwater Quantum but I do own 2 saltwater Cabos, older model as well as the new model I recently purchased. One of the very few reviewers I pay attention to is Alan Hawk.  He does completely breakdowns and field tests mainly higher end saltwater spinning reels. In his latest review of the Cabo he ranks the Quantum ceramic drag 2 nd only to a Stella.  I believe the drags are similar in both the Exo and Cabo and both are in the same price range, the drag on my Cabo is excellent. I only wish I would have read Hawk's review on my Penn Conquer, he was right, I'm sorry I bought it.
