Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 That's a nice looking fish! Welcome to the competition, and welcome to the site I see you are new here Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 TeamShrink, nice fish. A little bit more info about you will be nice. What part of FL, are you from. What were you using to catch such a pretty fish, what time of day? 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 Yeah man, I agree with Lou, we are here to share and collaborate. The only thing I can understand holding back is the location of the actual spot but region, lure and time of day should be posted with your catch. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 Went out last night around 6:30 til dark got skunked. I was using a spro frog and a swim jig. Went back out to same spot this morning hooked into 2, 15" and 17". I'm going to try to figure out the fish in my backyard and give the golf course a break. I can't seem to locate the big ones like I was doing this time last year, MCS and couple of the older members remember last years thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/102869-my-jacksonville-backyard-pond-big-ones/ I caught a 2lb out of there few months ago and every since that nothing of any size. Last year I would see them swimming around and chase my lure to the shore this year only small ones. But I did see 3 nice ones yesterday when I was out back so that gives me some confidence. But man if that bite turns on and the fish are 1 year bigger it will be over as far as these competitions lol. Everyone has to gear up go to their spot when all I will have to do is go out back in my flip flops lol. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 AK-NJ, don't get so cocky or I will not take you fishing when you come down S.FL........... just messing with you. You caught some nice ones last year out of your backyard. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 Lol yea I am definitely taking that trip to south fl and goin out on the boat. I bet I will go all the way down there and end up not catching anything but u will pull em in left and right lol. Happens when I go out with Bass Czar hah but as long as I see people pulling in fish I enjoy myself even if I catch nothing. I want to do some peacock fishing down there I have never seen or caught one before Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 I don't know when you are making your way down here, but if you make down here in the Spring I will get you into fish. Summer.... well you have been seeing the reports lately. LOL Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 10, 2013 Super User Posted July 10, 2013 Yea I would wait til spring to make the trip around spawn its way too inconsistent to make the trip in the summer Quote

teamshrink Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 TeamShrink, nice fish. A little bit more info about you will be nice. What part of FL, are you from. What were you using to catch such a pretty fish, what time of day? No problem. I'm in Orlando and I'm new at fishing, pretty much. I caught this around 4pm on a hot windy day. I caught this on a plain old t-rigged purple worm in pretty deep water. 1 Quote

Super User MCS Posted July 11, 2013 Super User Posted July 11, 2013 Man I went to a spot i havent been in 4 months, skunked.....Fishing way too fast and frustrated. Gonna got with what worked last year, weightless small plastics, and stop swinging for the fences with big worms and lizards. Maybe some flukes. Hope tomorrow is better. Nice fish Czar, what were you hooking them on? I need any tips I can get at this point LOL Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 12, 2013 Super User Posted July 12, 2013 Nice videos, I like that little spot you got there. Seems like a big body of water there are probably multiple double digit fish in there. Quote
fstr385 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nice videos, I like that little spot you got there. Seems like a big body of water there are probably multiple double digit fish in there. Yea its nice. Its a pain in the @$$ though. Always getting hung up, break offs, stuck in trees, ect, but its got alot of big fish. In december i got my pb 11.1 lb in there. Around the same time (spawn) i hooked into a few might be double digits but broke one off and the other shook off on a jump. There are alot of spots like the one in the video where the edge just drops 8-15' covered by trees a little, and a bunch of fallen branches on the edge making it easier to get the summer bite. 2' out there where I was drops about 10-12'. Its a long wait for a weightless senko to drop unless the take it before hand lol. They still slow down though after 8 am. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 12, 2013 Super User Posted July 12, 2013 Man, I step out for a day and you guys post these amazing catches. Bass Czar, good job. Fstr385, ok..ok..ok. we get it you want to be king of the hill. LOL. Awesome catches. Nice spot you have there. Pain in the butt or not it beats the fact that summer has been slow for others like me. I snuck out to the glades yesterday. Let's just say, I should have stayed put. It sucked. Keep up the the great work guys. I am jealous. No, really, I am jealous. LOL. Quote
