Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 This weather has been rough first it's way too hot and the fish aren't biting and now it's been raining and storming. July was gonna be tough already, what a great way to start it off here in Jax 1 Quote
CountBassula Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 OK, I'll give you guys a tip for this hot weather... drop it deep and work it slow :-) I pulled a bass that was pushing 10 pounds on a slow bottom hopping lizard :-) I switched up my technique last time I fished few days ago and it resulted in a lot of 5+lbs fish. So, fstr385, it's on! Ohhhh it's on baby!!! BTW, fstr385, when we gonna drop your little boat in the canal near my house? It will be a guaranteed 1st and 2nd place for us LOL :-D And what about that Lake O trip with my brother we've been planning??? 1 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Oh its on!! I will start. Caught this a little while ago. One is 18.75, and the other one is 17. Puts me at 35.75. 2 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Sorry about the bottom pic, I did not rotate it right. Mvorbordt, fish slow, and deep. Got it. Tx. Just because you have a little boat, doesn't mean July is in the bag. LOL. 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Nice fish Lou, that bottom one is a fatty! Gonna give a go tomorrow hopefully. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Thanks, MCS. I am glad you are able to sneek out for a bit. How is that baby girl doing? Yeah, the last fish was a nice fatty. I was working a wolf pack and there were 6 of them I was working. I was able to land the smaller two. Go figure!! Quote

Super User MCS Posted July 3, 2013 Super User Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks, MCS. I am glad you are able to sneek out for a bit. How is that baby girl doing? Yeah, the last fish was a nice fatty. I was working a wolf pack and there were 6 of them I was working. I was able to land the smaller two. Go figure!! She is doing very well thanks. they seem to get easier each time, thankfully. LOL The smaller two, they weren't bad, but doesn't that always happen. Now I got some catching up to do. Quote

Super User MCS Posted July 3, 2013 Super User Posted July 3, 2013 Looking good Czar Went out this morning from 6:40 to 7:40 missed a couple little ones on a live target mouse. The hydrilla at this one pond just BLEW UP! killing me and my texas rigs.(It is funny to see the ponds around here, no carp, some carp and too many carp and they all fish different) Have to try some other spots with carp. Friday might be my next chance. Quote

Super User MCS Posted July 3, 2013 Super User Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks MCS,so the more crap in a pond or lake make for better bass fishing? ???Well some carp in a pond I find is the best, if there is enough to keep the weeds from taking over, but still offers some cover. It just depends how the pond was stocked. The pond I was at today has some freaking tree sized weeds and the fish are deep and the Texas rigged just gets hung up. Once it cools the will die down a little. The ponds with too many carp don't have enough cover and the bass tend to wonder. Which you can work all kinds of lures but pin pointing location is a daily thing. This is just my observations from fishing around here. Each type of pond you use different lures and stuff so keeps me on my toes and I don't get stuck on one technique. You know what I am saying. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 3, 2013 Super User Posted July 3, 2013 AK-NJ, no I did not weigh the fish. I am getting so caught up on the length of the fish, that weight is an after thought. Unless its a PB, which in my case is 7.25lbr then I will take the scale out. Quote

Yea I am same way now since this competition unless it looks to be 4lbs i will weigh it, ask MCS last year I was weighing everything if it looked over 2lbs i wanted to see its exact weight lol. I was just curious to see because that one looks way fatter than any of the ones I caught in that size range, it must have been eating real good that's a nice looking fish Quote
