Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 29, 2013 Super User Posted July 29, 2013 AK, those are not hollow body frogs, the frogs that BP10 is offering are like the zoom horny toads or rage toads. They are designed to be buzzed on top of the water. You will like them. The strikes are as vicious because the bass has to chase the frog down. If you don't like them, I will take them off your hands. Lol yea I actually just picked up a pack of horny toads. I'm sure I will like them because that's how I like to fish the hollow body ones I use only difference is hollow floats when you stop it. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 29, 2013 Super User Posted July 29, 2013 not sure what u mean by hollow body but i doubt these are its all soft plastic. these the only frogs i have ever used. i use a 2 or 3 size worm hook for them  the bigger ones i have i would use a 4 or 5 size .  you will love these im pretty sure of it Have you ever use the double frog hooks on them? That's what I use for the hollow body soft plastic frogs that float. But I'm excited to check them out if i win. How big are the bigger ones? Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted July 30, 2013 Super User Posted July 30, 2013 Nice total AK. You beat me out by a whole 10 inches. That's a hard one to beat. The fish are nice. Too bad they are so thin up there. Those bigger ones during the spawn would have been HUGE. Congrats, no one is posting pics that come close to you, unless a "ninja" comes out with a surprise which I am waiting for it to happen at one point or another, AK, looks like your the King of the hill, for July. Congrats. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 30, 2013 Super User Posted July 30, 2013 Yea man the fish up here aren't as fat as they are in south fl they are just heavy. Quote

Super User South FLA Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 I didn't measure any of these, but here are my pics for the month, so I could not "officially be the Ninja", but you guys take a look and tell me what you think, lol! Biggest five went 7 1/2, 6 3/4, 6, 5 1/2, followed by a bunch in the low five range. All throughout the month. 2 Quote

And want to take me out on your boat sometime to the spots where you caught these fish I can pay my share lol Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 And my general consensus is you "unofficially" won July prob by about 7 inches at least Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 South Fla, I was curious when you were going to post. You and Mike. You guys are always posting very nice stuff. Those fish were nice and your boat is not to shabby either. AK, I know your heart stopped for a second. There are several FL guys on here, Â that if they were to participate in our friendly tourney and post their top 5 catches for the month, they would blow us away AK. South FLA, do you still have that sweet honey hole at the golf course?? Thought I forgot about that huh? That place is awesome. Too far for me but awesome none the less. Fortunately, the real "top dogs" are in real $$ tournaments. Quote

Exactly why I don't worry about them they are 1 laughing at the fish we post and 2 are getting $100s and $1000s we are getting the occasional pack of frogs, which is greatly appreciated for someone who doesn't have to do that but does out of the kindness of their heart. I see these pics of monster fish that these guys catch that make ours look like guppies lol. My boy is an example I take pics of fish even if they are like 2.5lbs lol he throws fish back that are 5 and 6 with no pic no nothing... Sheeeet not me lol. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 That's what I truly enjoy about this site. There are so many levels of bass fisherman here interacting and many are so open to share and give suggestions. My fishing game has elevated tremendously since I starting participating. Â Quote

Super User MCS Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 how did the grande bass rattlesnakes work, I picked up some about 3wks ago having used them yet  They are my favorite. I t-rig them weighless or with a 1/16 bullet weight and a 3/0 or 4/0 hook. Either use a sweep retrieve with pause after the movement or a slow roll back to me, sometimes drag it too. I use Junebug red flake which the last time I was at Academy they didn't carry it. But I am sure any color would do well. Quote

Most of the other fish were caught on either skinny dipper type baits and one came of a t-rig if I recall correctly. Quote

Top dogs may not necessarily be in money tournaments, lol. I know of plenty of guys that are too busy with life or guiding that they don't have time to enter in tournaments and can teach the tournament pros a thing or two. Nevertheless, it always amazes me how the top FLW and Bassmaster perform when they come. Super User BassinLou Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 South FLA, sorry to hear about your ex-honey hole. Last we spoke you did mention the possibility of your spot being taken over by another owner. That's unfortunate. You posted some nice videos and pics outta there I especially loved the frogging strikes. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 31, 2013 Super User Posted July 31, 2013 Robert is a largemouth stud. Nice fish buddy. Quote
