das028 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Looking for something a little heavier with good action. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Mirrolure - 17, 18 and 27MR series for larger profile and the 9 & 19MR series for thinner profile baitfish. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted July 1, 2013 Super User Posted July 1, 2013 Easy, Strike King caffeine shad or Yamamoto D-shad. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted July 1, 2013 Super User Posted July 1, 2013 Strike King caffeine shad Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 1, 2013 Super User Posted July 1, 2013 Strike King caffeine shad I like these baits, too. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 If we're talking soft plastics, then it would be the PowerTeam Lures 5" Sick Sticks or the 5"/7" Finicky Ticklers - they are neutrally bouyant and are killer. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted July 1, 2013 Super User Posted July 1, 2013 If you are talking plastics, then by all means, rig up a 9" Slug-go on a 7/0 worm hook. Just make sure you are prepared for a tremendous strike! So far this year, I've taken a 5 1/2# and 4# LM on this rig. It works. Plenty heavy enough too. Quote
craww Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 The D shad has the best action of any soft jerkbait Ive seen. It wiggles and falls backwards rigged w/an EWG Quote
Super User Teal Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Caffeine shad. The ones made by Big Bite Baits are ok too Quote
hookset on 3 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 The newer version of the Sinking Slug-go. I love the originals, but they have a tendency to rise on the jerk motion. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 2, 2013 Super User Posted July 2, 2013 Mirrorlures are some of the most versatile lures I've ever used, my favorite is the catch 2000 and the catch jr. Not to split hairs but these are twicthbaits and not jerk baits. I can work these lures either subsurface or on top of the water, I especially like them for fishing the swash where the water is no higher than my knee. Plastic jerk baits are a different genre, I'm a big fan of DOA 5.5" jerk shads. Quote
