MichiganFishing1997 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Hey guys, my girlfriend works at dunhams so she gets a discount on everything. This month she gets an extra discount on top of that for fishing products. I figured I would use this to get the frogging setup I have wanted. Here are my options.Berkley Lightning Rod Shock- 7'6 Heavy Pros- Heavier rating, Cheaper Cons- Longer split grip, No idea if its F or MF or XFAbu Garcia Veritas- 7'6 MH F Pros- Shorter Split Grip, Lighter, Cons- More expensive, Quality control, Only rated MHI didn't see any others. But I didn't know which one to choose. I fish some pretty heavy slop. I throw Pad Crashers and Buzzfrogs mainly. Can these rods be used for other presentations also? I plan on spooling it with #65 braid also. Thanks,Christian Quote

coak Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 If you can get the veritas for less than $75 I would ****** that up. Either you'll fall in love with it, or it could wind up being trade bait later on down the road. -Coak Quote

MichiganFishing1997 Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 get the veritas. Do you think it will have enough backbone for heavy slop? Quote
motodmast Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 yes, ABU Garcia rods are a lot stiffer than others. so a Abu Veritas MH is like another brands H. so you should be perfect Quote
MichiganFishing1997 Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Got the Veritas and slapped a Pro Max on it. Quote
