bocabasser Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 fished from 8-11 this morning and managed a couple of nice ones. 1 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted June 30, 2013 Super User Posted June 30, 2013 Nice fish. You have your spot dialed in. Is the water still flowing there? Quote
topwaterrob Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Hey Bruce, are the flats still high enough or is it canal only? Quote
Sam Fisher Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Not a big fain of fishing lox. Its bit to much work with my slow boat, but still nice fish. Quote
bocabasser Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Water was not moving; however, there was a strong south wind and the area I was fishing had enough wind current to trigger those fish. I lost a 5 pounder due to a super long cast and she jumped like five times before chucking my spook. Quote
bocabasser Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Hey Bruce, are the flats still high enough or is it canal only? There was more water than the last time I was there, but I didn't even consider going on the sign trail. All of my fish were caught at the very west end of the canal in the open water. Just gotta find moving water, eel grass and sandy bottom. I usually look for the little islands that are close together and I will chuck a spinnerbait or swim bait to locate fish. Once I catch one or two, I then go with the topwater and dial it in. 1 Quote
